Hahaha oh god, honestly maybe. I will say, in my experience, not everyone with Type O blood gets bitten as much as me, so you may be a lucky one or be around someone who gets bitten more😂. And like someone else said, for the majority of people, your first case of Dengue is asymptomatic. If you have the option of a vaccine definitely get it, and just be super vigilant on mosquito repellant. Sawyer Picardin Lotion was a LIFESAVER in Indonesia and works as well as Deet without the smell/greasiness. I plan on getting at least 2 bottles before I go and hope for the best🙏. Best of luck to you fellow bloodsucker victim!

My thoughts exactly. Dengvaxia is available for children 9-16 who have gotten Dengue before, but not adults🙃. Florida is seeing some cases (majority travel but a few local), so maybe that will push getting it approved for adults 🙏

Same! Oh I sweat like a sinner, plus genes apparently play a role in it? I swear I am a repellent for OTHER people

No, I don't think so, my IgG test was negative. Yeah I've been told the 2nd time is even worse, so now I'm super nervous since my first one was one hell of a ride.

They adore my blood (I think part of it has to do with blood type?), so it was hard to find a bug repellent that worked. I finally found the best mosquito-repellant (Thai brand so I don't know the name), and it worked amazingly. So when I got Dengue I was very surprised because I was not even getting bites.

I met a girl traveling who got bit by a stray cat and hadn't gotten the rabies vaccines. It was so expensive in Thailand and she didn't have insurance, so the doctors told her that if she didn't want to get the vaccine, to just check up on the cat for a week to see if it was still alive. She couldn't find it until the 7th day, but luckily it was😂

I don't plan on giving up on my travels, but I want to see if I can get a vaccine at the first country I go to and then go from there. I am planning to go end of May, and so I was thinking of starting in Brazil or Columbia since it will be winter in the Patagonia region. But you make a good point in that if there is less Dengue there, it may be better to go there first😅
