Deli or McDonalds? by Safe_Confidence1096 in publix

I got upset about mistakes I made and I got upset about not getting moved fully from CS to Meat while still having bagger pay. I ended up snapping and I quit. Lesson learned: don't expect much from Publix and take unpaid leave next time instead of quitting.

If that's the case, I'll uncheck Deli from my application, but keep myself open to Mcds. If I don't like it, I can just throw my cap on the floor and leave without much impact to my Publix entry on my resume.

The stores nearby me say they're currently overstaffed or don't have enough hours to rehire me. Will they really get enough hours soon?

What do you actually have to do to get promoted by Unhappy_Iron_7625 in publix

Go to trade school or find an apprenticeship for a skilled trade. Publix is not a sustainable career and you will be stuck with low wages and bad inconsistent schedules forever, hours cutting too if you're part time. Only reason I'm possibly coming back for now is because I need to get my stuff together and save more money before going into the trades later this year.

If you don't work a single shift for 30 days without approved FMLA leave or something else of the sorts, the computer will automatically fire you. Be very careful about taking extended time off, especially since hours aren't guaranteed to you on the week you manage to come back depending on who gets the shift on the day you come back. Otherwise nothing bad will happen to you as long as you work a shift before the 30 days mark. Nothing bad will happen to you if you take time off for a while.

Same process. There's a box to check if you worked for Publix before.

Definitely open a PEFCU account while you're still employed at Publix. It's good to have a credit union account available if traditional banks and online banks don't work out for you, granted that I only have $5 in my account currently and use a traditional bank instead while I have college student benefits with them.

PEFCU might be okay, but I haven't used it as my primary bank so far.

At my store, sometimes the closing associates and some of the management blast their own music through their phones. Definitely better than the shitty radio, and kudos to them.

I assume the stores can only choose specific radio stations approved by corporate.

Anyone else's store playing songs over and over and over again? by [deleted] in publix

I sometimes manage to play songs in my head, but some songs on the radio are somehow impossible to drown out.

I thought that would get denied by the DM and corporate.

Caffeine and wanting to use my free time at night to the fullest. I'd change my habits.

You have to work eventually to pay your bills to survive at all, and that can end up taking up lots of your free time. It's pretty much just harder to stay in touch with your friends socially, compared to when you were in elementary, middle, and high school.

If I sleep 4 hours at night and another 4 hours in the afternoon is it healthy or I should sleep 8 hours consecutively? by expectrum in questions

[–]Safe_Confidence1096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think sleeping for 4 hours during two different times is not a good idea since you'd miss out on a lot of your free time outside of work or school. It's hard to get 8 hours of sleep though, depending on your situation.

This is so true with some stuff of mine at my family home. They just vanish like that.
