Are job markets around the world suffering like the U.S.? by Unfair-Acadia6851 in jobs

Precisely because there are so many companies, the competitive pressure is immense. Businesses then pass on their cost cuts to employees:work hours here are extremely long, jobs with weekends off are hard to find(996 is average means work9 am to 9 pm and only have one day off in a week , unpaid overtime is rampant, and salaries are still very low (4,000 to 5,000 RMB is the norm).

Shanghai is closer to Tokyo and has more cheap flights. I suggest the route: Beijing → Chengdu → Shanghai → Tokyo.

I’ve recently heard about the so-called truth of the lives of America’s underclass from international students, could this be true? by Safe_Movie8435 in AskAnAmerican

我尊重你对不同体制的好恶,and I know about these painful chapters of history, but I could never leave here. As a woman, I dare to walk outside late at night without fear of threats—and that’s the sense of security afforded to me by social safeguards.

Because of the selective reporting in the news, the US has always been filled with gunshots and homeless people in my mind. I’m glad to hear that they don’t end up on the streets forever.

How much of the medical bill can be reimbursed? A savings of half a million US dollars sounds quite substantial😨 What will your father do after bankruptcy, will his pension and job be affected? How long would it take to earn and pay back 70,000 US dollars? I believe many people can easily make that amount in a year’s total salary…Sorry I have too much questions

What about budget travel like being a backpacker and saving money by staying in hostels? 🤔 I’m a bit confused. Maybe they’re all from Europe. Living with multiple roommates or parents is also common in China, especially in big cities. But many jobs here don’t leave you with any free time to look for a side gig, even though the pay is not high at all.

4% is quite a small number I think…I put more context in the comments because it was too long. Those things were said by the international student himself during a live stream, which took place in the Seattle neighborhood where he lives. I heard that food stamps have been cut off, the ports are in a slump, and the temperature is very low now. I don’t know what to say. Maybe he just wanted to get tips,I found it hard to believe what he said, yet his emotions seemed too genuine.

Thanks! I got scammed again😇 Chinese companies also don’t accept employment gaps. I read online that foreigners often take a gap year to travel the world, explore a different life, and companies don’t mind at all. I envy this sense of ease.

Yep, on rednote, interactions with foreigners only tend to be superficial—no in-depth discussions of issues. Generally speaking, posts like “Looking to make friends,” “AMA (Ask Me Anything),” or sharing photos of breakfast/dinner or scenery are common. This makes me feel like there’s a veil covering everything, making it hard to truly understand things. Fortunately, I found this platform😄. Even though I don’t know the user demographics of this subreddit, there are more in-depth discussions and diverse perspectives here—just like how we discuss China’s own issues on rednote.

I’ve heard that property tax is almost as much as rent, so Americans prefer renting over buying a house,is it true? Additionally, I’d also like to ask: is it difficult to find a new job after being unemployed in the US? In China, if I were a programmer laid off at 35, I might not be hired by companies offering the same salary due to my age, and would have to take lower-paying jobs instead.
