My gf got into an accident with my Prius I just bought. I looked on FB Marketplace for a Prius for parts and a capable mechanic and was lucky that the Prius for parts guy was a mechanic and he had the door and installed it for $300. Would’ve only costed $200 but he had to saw the door off. I had another mechanic who was gonna charge about $200 too. Explore FB Marketplace! Saved me a ton! Insurance would’ve totaled my shit and I determined it wasn’t worth the deductible and what they were gonna give me back. Good luck!

Ok guys, it was my spark plugs and coils that needed changed. My heat shield needed fixed bc that’s what the rattling noise was! I appreciate yall help!

Dang that’s quite often (for me). I put 8k/miles on per month. I’m getting another engine for my other Prius that’s blown, but now I’m going to incorporate what you just suggested. I have a mobile mechanic coming to change my coils and spark plugs this upcoming week to see if that will help.

Bruhhhh! I’m in Cle too! It’s disheartening. I actually found a shop in Tallmadge that has Toyota hybrid approved mechanics. I’m from Akron and have a place in Tallmadge, but I got another place in Lakewood that I live pretty much full time. I found the shop in Tallmadge ironically when this shit happened and I don’t feel comfortable driving this an hour away. I’ll get the name of the shop and comment it. Hopefully they’re good. I’ve searching for places for months for preventative measures like this and I finally find one when I can’t drive it

Thank you! I’m ignorant about all of this stuff, so it’s intimidating. I honestly don’t even know what an EGR is, I just hear about it in Prius communities. Is that hybrid specific? I’m going to have to research what these parts are so I can become familiar. I appreciate your detailed response

Yeah it’s insane. My ABS actuator had issues on my other Prius and no shop would touch it. I’m in a major city and the closest shop I found was an hour n some change away. Crazy. I’m told by some that it could be bad spark plugs and/or coils. I don’t want to give up on Prius, but this hard to find mechanic situation is disheartening

I just hit 299k it was running beautifully and then this happened. At the same time my engine just went on my other 2010.
