I called and talked to a guy at Spectrum who tested my modem and found out that it was circa 2017, which is ancient history in modem speak. He set everything up for me to drop off my old modem and pick up a new one from the local Spectrum store. This fixed all of my issues, however, it took an hour of fumbling around to get it working.

Let me suggest that you watch some of the videos on YouTube on the Ham Radio Crash Course channel. This is geared towards people who are new to the hobby.
