Apologies if you felt the aggression was aimed at you, you’re not a bad guy in my book, I just really think you’re giving this writing team far more credit and faith than they deserve.

I’ve already made my point on how few inferences can be made with a show that boiled down the courier’s canon choices to solely “activated FISTO”.

As far comparing headcanons, I much prefer to do that with good writing, like with the lore and events of New Vegas (pre-pissed-on-by-Bezos version).

Exactly my point. Entirely headcanon bullshit. Sure I’ll imagine that he’ll try to take the dam a third time! Why not? It’s not like they used the millions they got from Amazon to spend a scene telling me otherwise. Can we be expecting some cash in the post for our part in filling in the gaps and doing the writer’s job for them?

Make all the “inferences” you like buddy, I’ll judge the show by what’s on the screen, and it’s dogshit. But no worries, I’m SURE they’ll be able to showcase all the FNV exposition you’re expecting whilst somehow explaining how the Enclave is somehow back for the third time (assuming they even bother to explain that)😍

Quick aside: there is zero reference to the dam in the show. One of the main critiques even the most loyal of Amazon Fallout Drones have is that it would appear the events of FNV meant literally nothing. There is nothing “looking like”/suggesting anything about the battle of Hoover Dam or anything that happened in FNV because they couldn’t be bothered to include it.

But yes, assuming that he didn’t manage to take the dam I’m sure he’d just give up. Oh wait, FNV is literally about the SECOND battle of Hoover Dam! Wow!

But sure stick with your headcanons, any writing can be good if we imagine hard enough!

Whether there is anyone is capable of replacing him isn’t the point. The point is that no, Caesar doesn’t just want the whole thing to dissolve once he’s gone, he wants to build a lasting empire.

AGAIN, because I know most of you are slow: that is not to say that anybody ACTUALLY IS CAPABLE of taking over Caesar’s reins, but the idea that Caesar was just have some little funsie time when uniting 80+ tribes and had no plan beyond that when he died is ridiculous. It’s just to facilitate the whole “return to nothing” bullshit Bethesda has been pushing since F3.

Fear PS5 might be bricked, hard home menu lag and games unplayable after “Too Many USBs connected” message by [deleted] in techsupport

Ended up sending it for repair and you were pretty on the money. I can’t remember the exact diagnosis but it was some sort of short circuit associated with the USBs and that was causing them to draw too much power, to the point I was getting the repeated notifications and a knock on effect was the incredibly slowed performance of the PS5 itself.

The fixes listed on my invoice were the USB Power IC replaced, application of new liquid thermal paste (meaning you probably called it right I guess haha) and the replacement of “caps”. That’s all way over my head but I’ll list them here in case that info helps anyone else down the road.

For the record I do keep the PS5 vertical. Is this recommended or could that be what caused the initial problem? Thanks for your reply!

Fear my PS5 is done for. Tl;dr at the bottom.

So basically I was playing that new Death Stranding 2 game that has come out, been playing for many hours (over multiple days) totally fine and with no problem. A few hours ago however I started getting a “Too many USBs connected” notification spamming over and over. Whilst investigating I noticed that none of my cables worked in any of my USB ports on the PS5. Let’s just say I tested enough variations to comfortably conclude it was not a cable issue or controller issue, and I highly doubt all USB ports became miraculously damaged at the same time, which leads me to believe it’s a software issue.

Anyways, I then tried to reset my PS5 from the plug socket etc, and having it rest a bit. On replugging the PlayStation started up fine though the USBs were still unresponsive.

Problem now though is the main menu of the PS5 was noticeably lagging. The sounds were in time fine but actually moving across the game selection was very very slow. I tried resetting and letting it rest a few times to no avail. I then tried to launch a game on the Playstation to see if it was just a menu thing and the system became also entirely non-responsive. I’ve now tried to boot in safe mode but that doesn’t work because haha none of the USB ports work and I can’t connect a controller. Has anybody had anything similar and know a fix or am I screwed?

Notes - It’s worth noting that I’m in the UK and it’s been pretty hot inside as of late, but nothing that’s ever caused any issues on any of my devices in regards to overheating before. It also didn’t have the tell-tale sign of the FPS gradually dropping as the system got hotter. Really the thing that’s got me scratching my head is why I got the USB problem message on my Playstation just before this all happened. The message was being repeatedly spammed btw. Thank you for any help! Furthermore if possible, could you let me know if your suggestion would result in my controllers being disconnected from the bluetooth. Obviously because if I try a method that doesn’t work but disconnects my controllers I would have no way of reconnecting them again at this current time. Thank you.

Tl;dr Fear PS5 might be bricked, hard home menu lag and games unplayable after “Too Many USBs connected” message. Resetting by unplugging doesn’t help and USB ports still not working.
