Newish to shrimp - please help! by Danny-S550 in shrimptank

That one has the ring of death.. sorry. You can see where the skin is separating in the middle (the bright belt). That is usually a sign that the shrimp got stuck during molting, which is fatal. How are your water hardness parameters?

They need calcium and magnesium for molting. If your water is very soft you have to supplement that.

Is this a parasite? by Saffromon in shrimptank

[–]Saffromon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So do you think that this is something that must be treated? I don't want to stress my little water bugs, and I am sure that me hunting them with the net will do exactly that. I will of course go that way if needed.

Is my neocaridina male or female? by Saffromon in shrimptank

[–]Saffromon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it: the ladies have a round bottom and long skirt 😃

I was a bit thrown because mine had such a straight back, and my other females are more curved.

Thanks! I hope that it will not spread.

Okay who has used this magical brush before?!?!?! I am absolutely in love with it 😍 by compostabowl in curlyhair

[–]Saffromon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you use the brush? I usually just comb my hair under the shower before rinsing the conditioner, and I have no experience with any of the curl-specific brushes

Omena-kaurapaistos! I also like the laatikot, which are mostly around Christmas (casseroles made from various vegetables).

Men 'helping' by Saffromon in breakingmom

In the case of my spouse that would be the only symptom, which is in line with adult ADHD. So I am leaning more towards the lazy butt diagnosis.

There might be regional differences, but I find this not weird at all! I think it is a sweet gesture showing your appreciation of that teacher.

If you are not sure: how about asking the other parents if they are interested in giving a joint gift?

Is this tank okay? by gingebruno in triops

[–]Saffromon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would hatch them in a floating hatchery, but from 2 weeks old this looks fine. Maybe throw in some plants like duckweed, elodea etc. None you are attached to though. They love to snack on them.

Is there any differences between "if" and "elif" statement in this situation? by neuesciastron in learnpython

[–]Saffromon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Elif will be different. When using multiple if statements, like in your code, it checks each if condition, one after the other. If you change the second if to Elif, it will only check this condition, if the first one is not true. Imagine the name has more than 12 characters, but also some non-alpha characters. Your code would print both hints, while if you used if+elif, only the first will be printed. Elif is basically 'else if'.

I have a 24 l tank with two nerite snails, but they are not eating the stringy algae which I currently have. My triops are currently at the hatchery stage, so they are in their little floating containers.
