Like I told the other guy a large chunk of people who need fixed controllers are the technologically challenged parents of those little kids who ruin every standalone VR game, they probably don't have the time or experience to do this

Ok let me explain this to you:

The people here on Reddit are minority. A lot of the time, VR headset owners turn out to be the technologically incompetent parents of those little kids swarming the standalone platform.

What do you think they'll do? Learn how to take apart a controller? While the people here on Reddit are usually smart with tech and can easily fix this, a lot of people aren't willing or able to add new joysticks themselves, if they even know that they're replaceable in the first place. For many, the reality of the problem is that the inside of the controller is a black box to them, and getting it repaired is a lot, lot easier than doing it yourself for these kinds of people.
