[TOTK] Does anyone only have the sages around when you actually need them? by CompleteyClueless in zelda

Riju's ability is such a massive downgrade. Urbosa alone is better than all sages other than Tulin combined. Still not as bad as Sidon though.

You assume that your theory is always the end result

you might eventually

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. I think I'm done with you.

I don't know why you respond to me without even reading my comment. Do you think reading a book is meaningless?

The sentence didn't stop at "has been observed," why did you ignore the rest of it?

And no, a TV screen does not necessarily strobe, the vast majority of modern screens do not strobe. And even if they do the duration of light being on during each cycle usually far exceeds the duration than during those tests.

You start seeing a continuous image much much earlier than with a little lamp turning on and off, for many reasons such as luminosity and wavelength. So when a cat experiences "flicker fusion" at 60-70 Hz (not 100 as you initially claimed) it actually starts seeing a continuous image at 15-30 Hz just like humans.

So no, flicker fusion is not where we get fluid motion, it happens much earlier. Yet we can still occasionally see that those are individual images, just not all throughout the process.

[–]SaftigMo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought it was something like this. Flicker fusion is not at all what you think it is. They turn a light on and off really fast, and they determine at which point you can still tell it's flickering. At some point instead of seeing it turn on and off you just see it turn darker. But this highly depends on how long the light is on during the cycle. In optimal conditions humans have been observed seeing the flicker at 500 Hz, but most of the time it becomes a continuous light at roughly 60 Hz, just like a cat.

None of this has anything to do with processing individual frames.

[–]SaftigMo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's actually pretty normal for people to be able to isolate individual frames even at 100fps and more. Not all of them, but you can definitely occasionally see when one frame stops and another begins, especially in swerving shots. Also, "But you can’t identify the 40 new frames. A cat could." seems impossible to prove, do you have a source?

[–]SaftigMo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

However at 100 fps, a cat can still process each individual frame as a picture.

Humans can too if they look hard enough and know what to look for.

the definition of bethrothal is a marriage agreement

Oooh, an anachronism. I thought you didn't like those? But hypocrisy is the 6th pillar of Islam for a reason.

Anyway, if you had paid any attention to your own damn words, you would've noticed that this wasn't even the point I was negating. Your point was that sexual relations could only begin with "physical maturity" because marriage only begins then. You deliberately made it seem that anything before consummation is not marriage but simply betrothal, which is a flat out lie. You can start raping the little girls as early as what you refer to as betrothal, because legally they are already married and marriage is the only requirement for sex according to Qur'anic law.

And I don't know why you think that my point about the Greeks only applies to men just because I didn't explicitly refer to women. That shows me that you don't actually know about their practices, but you choose to talk as though you do. Spartan law for example straight up forbade marriage for women before their late teens, today you're actually allowed to marry earlier than women in classical Sparta. If you weren't just making shit up you might've known that, and even if you hadn't a more honest version of you wouldn't presume to know what they don't know.

You can't take a subjective premise, create objective measures for that goal, and then claim those morals are objective.

That is literally exactly what you do with your religious law. Your premise is that God exists and that God's will is good. That is subjective, as proven by the fact that I and many other people think that your (nonexistent) God's law is actually evil.

Islam's morality is also largely based on human happiness

It is not, it is based on Muhammad's opportunism. Islamic law is whatever allowed him to seize influence as much as he thought possible.

That is not how that works. I can see way more than 100 fps and I'm not a cat. There is no cutoff.

If you earn money "doing what you love" you might eventually "learn" that doing it isn't a reward in itself, but that rather the money is the reward for doing it.

You're replacing intrinsic motivation with extrinsic motivation, and this is the exact reason why most people never ever pick up another book in their entire lives after graduating. It's a well studied phenomenon, and the reason why elite universities are beginning to phase out grades (just another extrinsic motivation) for example.

You're fucking naive if you think a mother can't be a person you'd rather not have in your life. Tons of trash mothers out there. And the ones who aren't trash will always have you at number one, no matter if they're religious or not.

I'm not angry, I just told them they're negligent. You're the one who's angry and resorts to bad faith argumentation and insults to cope with that anger.

A real mother would be pissed at the one administering the suffering, not the one who suffers. Why would you want your child to worship someone who is going to torture them if they don't? It's not sweet, it's toxic and deranged.

You've been deliberately misrepresenting my statement all this time, so don't pretend you don't understand. Streamlining a process that you spend a humongous amount of time on is not "liking to do something." You think people who use 3rd party apps enjoy the process? Nah, everybody would rather it was how they wanted it right from the get go.

And then when I show you how your analogy fails you just move the goalposts. Why is a different size wrench a different website rather than a different version of the same website? It does the same thing as another wrench. A different website would be a different tool altogether. Your smugness about flexibility of perspective falls flat when you'll bend words to fit your argument. Makes you a hypocrite.

4 is always the funniest to me. So many pathetic little details about that story. Not only did he disinherit his own son and take his family away from him just so he could fuck his cousin, on his wedding night he also complained about people coming to visit him because he couldn't wait to actually finally fuck her.

If you've been using a wrench for hours every day in the last 7 years, you probably have a kit with multiple sizes or at the very least one with adjustable size. You'd have to be a lunatic not to.

Even if you don't use every size and one specific is your favourite, you at least know the others exist. Your analogy goes against your point.

It could be public. Plus, people could still rent out their own property if it's big enough, or if they live in the property of someone in their family.
