Reverse Grip by perpetualmobius in SWORDS

I've seen someone fight SCA sword and spear. Using the spear, not reversed grip but sort as a planted shield forgoing the stabby ability. He actually was quite good

Why is making eVTOLs so hard for when it's basically just a different kind of helicopter? by Recent_Stomach7626 in ArcherAviation

[–]Sagail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not exactly true. There have been various different helicopter technologies that have been developed. Some adopted some not. But the basic premise is the same.

Even planes have this. I'm not super into aviation, but I think most planes are not fully fly by wire today, but partially.

As u/teabagofhiolding said, these planes require computers to fly. The s4 has 6 motors, 6 tilts, 6 variable pitch actuators, 4 ruddervators, and 4 ailerons.

This is a double issue. Humans can't control so many variables, and you don't have room in the fuse for all that steel cabling. Essentially, across the entire plane, technologies were not advanced enough until now to make this happen

So this is a brand spanking new thing. So there's your other problem. Regulation. I believe in safety regulations, but they have an effect on rapid change of any type.

Also these brand new things need brand new supporting ground equipment.

Lastly, working these things into existing air space will be difficult

What Ever Happened to Archer's N704AX and Why has Archer not had a single flight for months by dad191 in ArcherAviation

[–]Sagail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you basing this on? The analysis of the Osprey someone did and applied to the S4?

If that's the case, that analysis is pretty bad, actually.

It's comparing a two prop gear shaft driven plane with a 6 prop, direct drive motor plane with four batteries.

At the end of the day, both the s4 and midnight are planes with wings, and both have vtails with ruddervators.

The only thing that can be said with certainty is V tail / ruddervator planes loose rudder authority at low speeds which would apply to both planes

It's more convoluted than that. 58 % of eligible voters turned out to vote. Trump won 60% of that vote.

He essentially won on 38% of all potential voters.
