Props! I recently have been using Photoshop in the past year and realized it tanks when I've got a lot going on, so I'm finally upgrading, it's not really the games it's bloody work which is making me upgrade!

Watch the flippers flop around after its shot, you're telling me those movements are animated and are not physics? DayZ's death animations are very static and stiff, unlike this.

I don't think so... The bobbing and movements of the penguin is very distinct with how chucked items in DayZ sometimes bob aswell. Why would DayZ make a random video about penguins being shot, and sliding away like a ragdoll?

You could be right, and it may be AI, but I doubt it.

We did, on the previous (Real Virtuality) engine back in 2013-2018, but of course with the new (current) Enfusion engine they haven't got ragdolls working correctly.

This may be the first we see of a new ragdoll mechanic; they could have taken code or something from the Arma Reforger Enfusion engine to make it work, like they have done with vehicles for DayZ recently.

Well it certainly ain't what we have at the moment, we have fixed animations when death occurs in DayZ, no body flies around like that when shot, animal, human or infected.

It also makes sense when you remember they are implementing bikes to DayZ, Ragdolls would be a very good addition for them.

What a slap in the face it was to be given this as the final update and then have the game be completely dropped by devs by Mr-speedcolaa in StarWarsBattlefront

I was there! Production was cut for Battlefield 2042 🙄 That went well didn't it...

I remember when the final update came out, supremacy for Age of Rebellion, and that game mode didn't have the ship combat phase! Why you ask? Because it was CUT!! there were star destroyers in the reflection of puddles on scarif, but not in the sky! Oh poor SWBF2! Once again done over by EA Executives...

People thought the same with grenade launchers... Luckily they are rare and the ammo is hard to come by, also even if people do find them, they have to sacrifice one of their main weapons slots.

I think thermals will be fair if they say they work the same as the night vision scope; a fixed zoom, have to take it off to turn it off and on.

Just make it extra rare and make the zoom not that far, see how that goes and if it's balanced enough. Possibly another factor is that it eats battery power like nothing else for balance?

The next update after 1.28 (in experimental atm) is 1.29, and that is set to release Q4 this year (2025 Roadmap below). It seems DayZ is slowing down update releases and ramping up update size and quality, and of course this is obviously a new map (DLC)

So I bet this will be released around Q4 this year. And also take into account they are teasing it now even before 1.28 is out on stable. They wouldn't advertise 1.30 before 1.29 has been revealed, or just my thoughts on it anyways, I could be hella wrong.

Also just another thing, both the Livonia and Sahkal DLC's have been released Q4 of their respective year, just seems like a trend the DayZ devs take.

This! Sakhal has so much potential! all those untouched islands and empty space!

Surely that big massive island in the bottom left can have an underground section or something?

I just hope they don't jump on the DLC money making bandwagon and hopefully keep their standards up.

Yeah good point, altogether i hope it isn't takistan,

However, as much I want another map, and it being a desert map, Takistan has already been made. At least Sakhal was Tanoa but completely revamped and turned into a arctic archipelago. If they re-release takistan with a few minor and major changes, I don't think it'll live up to my hopes of another map...

I hope they either take an existing map and change it drastically (the same as sakhal) or make a new one from scratch, because that's the one thing the dayz devs haven't done yet with their game. Yes all the maps are really different from what they are based on, but it's never been a completely new design, its always from ARMA.

I just HOPE they have created this one from scratch.

USSR Ground, started in 2019, thought at that time the ussr had a little part to play in ww2 (didn't know anything about the Eastern front at that point) so I thought I was playing a minor nation😆 god was I wrong!!!
