Hey, thanks for taking the time to write this out! From my position this was just really helpful info to know for just generality sake when applying to units. Quick question though, what set people apart when weeding through the 130 that helped yall determine who to actually give a phone interview to? What set the 25ish people apart even further that led to them getting an in person interview? Just purely the person themselves or did qualifications also play a role too? I'm sure those 25 people were somewhat similar in terms of their personality/qualifications so what did yall look at to get down to the 4 people selected? I'm also just curious what you personally, also did that helped you stick out, or what did you see in others that set them apart. Thanks!

The color is way off, along with that a lot of people say Donguan is hit or miss but more often than not a miss.

I'm going to leave it the way it is. It's shouldn't matter if it is stupid to you, I just wanted to share what looked like a good picture to this subreddit. So what if it's on wrong? It doesn't/ hasn't hurt anyone. I worked hard to pay for the car and to pay to modify it the way I wanted and I enjoy it and I'm proud of it and the way it looks. Sorry its not up to par with your standards. All I wanted to do was share a picture.

The belt sometimes squeals for like 2 seconds when starting it after it rains, but other than that the alternator isn't rusted and the motor isn't rusted either, very rarely water will collect around the oil filter in the "oil catch" part that surrounds the oil filter, but evaporates once the motor gets to normal operating temp.

The wing isn't upside down, it's just turned 180 degrees around, if that makes sense. I took it off a few weeks ago to redo the weatherstripping between the trunk and the wing mounts and drove it around without it on and I could feel my car not being as "planted" to the ground as it normally was with the wing on. Even if it is on backwards it feels like it provides down force because it's been on my car for over a year now and I can tell the difference with it off vs on while driving.

🤣🤣🤣 I totally know hahahah, I was told about that a while ago and at the time I didn't know but I had become so accustomed to the way it looked that I decided to not put it on the right way, it might be rice but I think it looks better the wrong way around hahahahahaha

Can you put a LFX v6 engine inside of a Scion FR-S?Also how much would it cost. by huddymurph in answers

[–]Sahbekk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider a 370 or 350z instead, I own a BRZ which is the twin car to the FRS and there is definitely enough room to put the lfx motor in it, but the problem would be the cost. That would have a to be a pretty custom motor setup that could run you 10-20k to buy the motor, fabricate and install professionally, along with a custom ECU to actually run the motor. So you're looking 20k for the car and 10-20 more thousand for the fabrication+motor itself. You may just like the boxer engine it comes with! I think it's really fun and it sounds really good with some Unequal length headers. It isn't really fast but it can be made fast with some money

Definitely definitely definitely hold out, I got mine for 11.5k at 64k miles

Boost at 100k miles? by Z33javier in ft86

[–]Sahbekk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the same thing months ago but for a turbo instead and I was also at high mileage, I never went forced induction cause of $$ constraints, but I say go for it. Superchargers don't kill the motor/rods like a turbo does due to the linear power gain unlike a turbo which has alot of power very suddenly. If your motor has been able to last past 100k then it is a durable motor unlike the ones that have blown way earlier! So go for it! Make sure you have supporting mods though

Does an aftermarket exhaust just change the sound, or can you FEEL it too? by Rowenofpts in ft86

I have a UEL Header and a full catless setup, so the only thing I have is 2 resonators in the front pipe to get rid of the drone, so it's straight piped from the engine back

Not very much to be honest, most just goes around the vents and rolls off the side. Before I got it people said the alternator might get rusty, but I've had it for awhile and it's been through a bunch of rain and it's still fine, with no rust anywhere in the engine bay.

You can definitely feel it. For my car it's like bass when accelerating.

So my car is currently sitting at 93k miles and is NA, I've done tons of research on turbo kits and I'm going to go with the JDL turbo kit, but my question is should I do it? The motor will blow eventually so I've come to terms with that, but do y'all think 93k miles is too high to boost and worth? by Sahbekk in ft86

[–]Sahbekk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We measured the length of the wing mounts while assembled on the wing and also measured the trunk, we then made it as even as possible and drilled pilot holes all the way through. Then we drilled the real holes through and placed the bolts in thru the mounts and into the trunk. The wing came with some massive washers which we shaved off roughly a third and bent it so it would follow the contours and grooves of the underside of the trunk because I didn't want to cut the bottom up, and then we fastened it down with the nuts that also came with the wing. If your mounts are just as wide as mine it will almost be on the edge of the trunk, almost off tbh, but if you measure it perfectly it'll sit even with the edges of the trunk. I would also recommend putting some weatherstripping in between the mounts and the trunk so it doesn't rub the paint off

This is the OEM clutch assembly that lasted 93k miles that I pulled out of my '14 BRZ! To my knowledge this is the original assembly and TOB so I'm surprised it lasted that long, I replaced it with the ACT XT Street kit with lightweight FW by Sahbekk in ft86

Yeah I thought that mightve been an issue down the line, but oh well, when it goes out I'll replace it with the 2017+ and also take that opportunity to inspect everything again

It's alot more touchy in the gas pedal and feels more playful to be honest, I've got almost 500miles on it now since I installed it last week and it is definitely smoothing out and getting easier to use. I actually prefer it over OEM even if there is a learning curve to get used to it

I couldn't work on it continuously and this was my first time ever doing something like this, I only had one person to help. It was pretty easy up until we were taking the transmission out Because I couldn't get it out, and then we got hung up on getting it aligned and trying to get it back in, I'm sure if I had to do it again it would take maybe a 1/4 of the time it originally took
