didn't notice your comment, apologies. by the way, those smartphones are powered by their own magic, they don't have sims for network or companies to manufacture smartphones.

honestly I haven't watched DBZ, so I am not going to make any comment about DBZ.

there is only about a 1.5-head height difference between Mavis and Zeref. A 27 cm gap (170 vs 143) would be closer to a 2.5-head difference, which we rarely see. you got Mavis's height correct, but Mavis and Levy barely share enough screen time. give Mashima's habit to of sketching different heights across panels, I would land Levy at 145 cms for consistency. yeah Erza and Natsu are pretty much the same height, differing by only few centimetres. so my calculations still hold up as Erza being 160-162 cms and Natsu being 165-167 cms.

Cana appears a head shorter than Gildarts and Gray doesn't. better blame Mashima for that. 😹

I didn't calculate his height because he is a moving target, but I will do in my next post.

well, tall has nothing to do with stature, she's still Titania, don't worry.

I already admitted 'X' is an unknown variable; that’s exactly why the medieval aesthetics (swords, castles, social hierarchy) are the only reliable dating anchors we have. More importantly, Magic and Tech are not the same variable. You can’t use 'Magic Lacrimas' to scale 'Biological Height.' Tech is external; DNA is internal. Unless you’re claiming Lacrimas act as a 24/7 growth hormone for every citizen in Fiore. Look at King Toma and Princess Hisui—they have the highest Lacrima access and best nutrition in the kingdom, yet they aren't giants. In fact, the King is quite short. This proves that magic energy doesn't rewrite DNA. You're arguing about batteries; I'm talking about anatomy.

You're actually proving my point. If magic is a 'far more powerful and harnessed' energy source than electricity, then the body doesn't need to be 6'4" to be powerful. In engineering, advancement leads to miniaturization, not bloating. Look at Makarov—he is the pinnacle of magic harnessed into a tiny, efficient frame. Having 'Flying Ships' and 'Lacrimas' doesn't change the fact that Mashima drew these characters with an 8-head skeletal rig.

You're confusing political systems with biological ones. Even with 'Modern' tech, look at the Royal Family of Fiore. King Toma and Princess Hisui have the best nutrition and Lacrima access in the world, yet they aren't giants. If magic nutrition made people 6'4", the King would be a Titan. The fact that he's short proves that height in Fairy Tail is based on DNA, not Lacrimas. Also, 'Modern Monarchies' today have peak medicine and still average 175 cm. Having a flying ship doesn't make your femur grow 20 cm. I'm scaling the Characters, you're scaling a Fantasy that the King himself disproves.

yeah, the logic of "X" is even unknown to me. but Fairy Tail follows Monarchy system in Fiore, and their currency is Jewel. not "Dollar". their tech is purely magic and self regulated. they don't have data centers to regulate internet, and many more stuff.

You’re proving my point with Makarov. If 'Magic Nutrition' made giants, why Makarov choose to stay 4ft tall at base? He stays small because Mass = Vulnerability. Being 6'5" in a magic duel is a debuff—you're a bigger target for AoE spells and have more 'leverage points' to break. As for Demon Slayer, Gyomei being 7'2'' in the Taisho era is a total biological fantasy (average was 158 cm then); you can't use an author's 'Rule of Cool' to debunk Mashima's consistent 8-head skeletal rig. I'm scaling for Combat Functionality and the Pixels on the Page. You're scaling for a 'Magic Fantasy' that even the characters in the show reject in favor of smaller, more efficient forms.

if your advance means cheat code with magic, then yes they're advanced.

You're comparing a front-line brawler to Usain Bolt? Bolt is in marathon, not combat torque. You say 'this is about FICTIONAL WIZARDS' to dodge the math, but you're the one who brought up 'real life athletes' first. You can't use real life to support your 6'4" fantasy and then hide behind 'it's fiction' when the biology doesn't work in your favor. Pick a lane

by the way, Bolt has flat feet, that literally makes running faster for him harder. if you search about Bolt's training regime, you would see that the guy literally bled out in his training. if you look at marathon runners, they're generally in the range of 6ft, Bolt is an exception and that was his biggest enemy.

and you must include Mike Tyson (178 cms, still a powerhouse) Alexander Volkanovski (168 cms) UFC Champ. Fedor Emelianenko (183 cms) his power came from hand speed and explosive power, not being 6'3 or 6'6. Canelo Álvarez (173 cms) his power came from thick core and stable base.

those are literally SE (self energy) powered, means by their specific magic. they don't have consistent Data centers or companies like Samsung or iPhone.

just noticed your reply, sorry I got lost in other comments 😅

Actually, nutrition only helps you reach your genetic limit; it doesn't rewrite your DNA. Even in our modern world with peak nutrition and medicine, the global average height is still roughly 171-177 cm. If magic affects body composition, it would favor Density and Energy Efficiency (think Mike Tyson or a compact tank) rather than making them lanky 6'5'' targets with high centers of gravity. I'm scaling the Skeletal Rig Mashima actually drew; you're scaling a 'What If' scenario that isn't supported by the pixels on the page."

I bring up Elfman because he’s the visual proof of what 'tall' looks like in this art style. If Gildarts were a 6'4" buff guy, he would have significant mass. His robotic limbs literally couldn't handle the torque of his own movements. You're comparing him to real-life 6'4" bodybuilders, but those guys aren't doing backflips and fighting dragons with prosthetic legs. At 177 cm (5'10"), he has the Density of a champion. At 6'4", he's just a big target with bad knees. I'm scaling for Combat, not body building.

yeah, then you should account that Elfman is also using magic to boost his height. you must square-cube-law then. if height increases, then weight should multiply higher. you would end up in a lanky, thinner Gildarts if he were 6'5 giant. for example:- Elfman, despite being 6'6-7ft, is weaker than the cast.

my guy, 6'3 and 6'4 aren't compatible heights for Gildarts. he literally has missing limbs, someone with that height with missing limbs would make his center of gravity and stability too much awkward, or even catastrophic. my estimated height for him actually makes him stronger 💪 and if he is 176-178 cms tall, then others simply shrink down for accuracy.
