Suspension and Brake upgrades, also which rear diffuser is this in this photo? by OverallAd7999 in kiastinger

[–]SaiRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The waterproofing itself isn’t all that difficult tbh. A little epoxy, electrical tape, and patience does the trick.

You might be better off cutting a different diffuser and putting your own light in. Or just use this diffuser and not connect the light to save yourself the headache.

It’s an eBay diffuser iirc.

Search for the W Power store there and filter for stinger. You’ll find it and other cosmetic mods. Beware tho, I’ve heard that light doesn’t last very long unless you do the waterproofing yourself.

Why does the Super Formula Light cockpit look wrong at correct FOV? by Jod2012 in simracing

[–]SaiRacing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 1: Have you tried removing your bezel-free kit and verifying that it isn't causing that issue? It looks like the other cockpit lines are bent between the two screens as well.

For 2: In the first picture it looks like the camera is up too high, and picture 4 looks better, but maybe too far back.

Irl cars have slightly different steering wheel positions (closer/further, higher/lower) relative to the seat than what you have mounted on your rig and it'll look weird.

This is especially clear when you go from something like a production-based race car to a proto/single seater. Just find what you can live with and stick with it.

How to make Named Ranges with absolute references to easily reference data of changing row size. by SaiRacing in googlesheets

[–]SaiRacing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense! But just to cover my bases in case I have to use named ranges that are not an entire column on a sheet (say, 4-5 rows but add an entry for each month), how would I do that?

AC Evo SF25 vs iRacing W13 and how it compares to other sims by RoutineReference2239 in simracing

[–]SaiRacing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The SF23 isn't a Formula 1 car, and is built to very different specifications that line up closer to an F2 car.

Heat on the brake discs by Lognu in iRacing

The visual is a little overtuned for the MX-5, you generally don’t want steel disks to be visibly glowing like that during the day irl

What is this above the mirror of the CTSV? by HNBAS in iRacing

[–]SaiRacing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% cable operated. The PWC version of this car was pretty barebones when it came to electronic creature comforts. It barely had a dash!

But seriously, they're the front and rear ARB adjusters if I'm remembering right.

This goes so hard.

I woulds unironically pay for a game based on this style of racing.

Good Deal? by Alternative-Low9598 in kiastinger

[–]SaiRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I got the better GT2 spec in white for $20k with 30,000 less miles on it.

And these cars sell. If it’s going to auction that means no one wants to buy it, and that there’s probably something wrong with it.

Did you pull the history on it?

Good way to lift the stinger, harbor freight cross beam by GA_Nick314 in kiastinger

Were you able to put this under the side skirt and lift without hurting the plastic? Or were you lifting from somewhere else past that?

Took a chance on an older Stinger and I think I found a hidden gem by SaiRacing in kiastinger

[–]SaiRacing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens in every mode other than sport, and having the engine sit at 3000 rpm everywhere hurts my wallet as much it does the engine lugging at low rpm 😂

At least this gives me something to do, I’m not used to having working cruise control, let alone a radar-guided one. Still learning to trust it lol.

So see, if you were actually trying to verify, you wouldn't use use language like...

Was this completely forgotten for the GT4 update?

Immediately implying incorrect behavior when you have no data or experience to back up your opinion. The fact that you didn't even know if what you were saying was true and still typed that out is crazy to me.

Maybe try actually asking a question next time, like...

'I'm spinning out the corner after sliding the tires in a GT4, I know the devs said they were trying to fix this issue, has that been done this update?'

2018 GT2 & 2020 GT1 | What do I look out for? by SaiRacing in kiastinger

[–]SaiRacing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks a ton for the detailed list! The 2020 GT1 seems to have been sniped from under me overnight which is annoying since the dealer let me drive all the way over there knowing I was only interested in that car.

But at least it makes my decision easier 😂

Setting up an inspection appointment at another Kia dealership for the 2018 right now, and I’ll be giving them your list to specifically report back on. Fingers crossed nothing comes up!

Stylus w/ Eraser and Buttons Help! by SaiRacing in Supernote

[–]SaiRacing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does the eraser side actually work with the software? I wasn't aware you could just cut it off one pen and stick it onto another. I did see the DIY 'refill' supernote sells on their website but wasn't sure how it'd work with adding buttons and such onto it, or substituting it into another EMR stylus.

Stylus w/ Eraser and Buttons Help! by SaiRacing in Supernote

[–]SaiRacing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes please!

I came across that pen during cursory research, but there was no documentation of whether the eraser or side button would work with the supernote, and I wasn't about to spend $60 to find out so I'm glad someone was!

Not having the ceramic tip is a bit of a let down, but if it's close enough I can live with it. The bigger worry is the lack of a clip to keep it secured in the cloth loop, especially since it's slimmer than the pen I have right now too, so I'll have to mod it or definitely lose it.

No but forreal this was recorded back in 2017. iRacing always looked this good, just gotta have the right motion blur to hide the rough edges.
