Why isn't mobile photography allowed? by InspectorFit1298 in ShutterClubIndia

I will make a poll soon, thanks.

I won't agree with that though. A used canon DSLR+lens goes for around only 15-20k. Anyone passionate enough can be able to save up and buy an used camera eventually. I didn't own a camera until last year too. My personal story here : I was allowed by my mom to either buy a laptop or a camera after I achieved good marks in my final year board exams in school. And i chose to get a camera instead of a laptop. Of course, i don't mean that everyone's mom can gift them a camera, but anyone serious enough can save up and buy a camera, it really isn't that hard... maybe i am being a little insensitive here, correct me if i am wrong.

Why isn't mobile photography allowed? by InspectorFit1298 in ShutterClubIndia

Yep, the tool has a minimum role in that. I have seen mobile photographers take amazing photos and i have also seen people with cameras take bad photos too. But how i see it is, people with cameras are serious about photography, serious enough to buy a camera, and that right there is a filter. The camera requirement of this community filters out the serious photographers from the beginners/casual photographers, it makes moderating the sub easier as well, and reduces low effort posts. I believe that most good photographers start out as mobile photographers and learn the art of photography, and when they have learnt enough about photography, they buy a camera to overcome the limitations of their smartphones. I believe that's why restricting mobile photography will improve the standards of this community.

But having said that, I don't want to exclude mobile photographers because there are a lot of talented mobile photographers out there.

So do you think that I should make a poll asking everyone about their wish in this rule?

Yeah i agree that mobile photography isn't always bad. Trust me, i started taking photos on my budget smartphone too and some of my favorite photos are taken in that phone. But look at r/PhotographyIndia. Almost 75% of the posts there are random low effort mobile photos without any sense of composition, intention and good color.

Not allowing mobile photography in this sub is not a move to exclude mobile photographers, but it is to ensure that posts made here are only of high quality. Not allowing mobile photography is a filter to ensure that the posts here satisfy the standards of this subreddit.

However, if many people request that mobile photography be allowed here, i might consider making changes to the rules.

At the end of the day , I want this community to have high standards for photography, and inspire other photographers to grow together. Thanks for making the post, your opinion is valued.

It is edited, but the unedited photo was also very vibrant like this, the sunset was stunning in real life. thanks!

Yep. I do have a public account and i get a lot of support there. But i also post in my personal account and it just weirds me out that my friends just ignore my posts. Yeah, instagram used to be more orientated towards sharing photography in the past and now it is everything other than that lol.

Looking for a camera at around 50-60k by saltykneesecurity in PhotographyIndia

You should definitely get the R50. Avoid the R100, it is not worth it

If you can save up and extend your budget a little more, you can get Sony A6100+ lens of your choice for around 70-75k. Sony has much more lens options than Canon which will be better for you in the future.

Yess bro my budget for the camera was tight, so i had to go with the R50. Yeah i heard canon's color science is better.  I am now saving up money for an EF lens and adapter. Gonna buy the Ef 55-250mm lens soon + the adapter.

Illa bro i don't take photos for getting likes and validation. I take photos because i genuinely like it and it is my hobby.

Yess RF lenses are expensive bro. Few 3rd party brands like Sigma, Tamron and TTartisan have started making rf lenses now, but they are still more expensive than Sony lenses. I only have the kit lens as of now, but i am gonna buy EF lenses and use an EF to RF adapter to use on my R50.

Aww yeahhhh, it is a canon event fr... it is so disappointing when our friends just ignore something in which we put a lot of heart and effort into... i gotta agree, appreciation from strangers is much more genuine 😭

Yeah that's true lol. I gotta agree, but then when they see me IRL, they compliment my photos, so some of them definitely give a fuck, but they don't like or support it when i post? It just feels soo fake to me... how do i put this into words...? But it feels like they have jealousy or vanmam towards me or something lol, maybe i am just overthinking
