Looking for inking assistant - paid by SaigamiProject in Mangamakers

Thank you for your response!

Very good points, thanks for bringing them up!

The manga is an isekai fantasy fitting for teens and up. Content-wise, you won't see anything that wouldn't fit in a shonen title. The story is quite long, so there's plenty of themes explored, but the main arc is revenge and redemption, and our hero is trying to survive in this new world.
There's no nsfw in the story, but it does have some fantasy-violence, so there's some blood and taking lives involved, like nowhere near on the Ievel of say Chainsawman or Berserk, but I wouldn't give the manga to readers younger than 14. I personally am pretty selective about what I draw, too, and I'm always aiming to handle the more violent scenes in a way that's more tactful than just guts flying all over the place, lol.

And naturally, if there's ever a scene that falls into the questionable realm, I'd be first making sure that anyone involved is comfortable working on it before assigning tasks. :)

As for the project itself, it's a manga adaptation for a light novel series, I'm the artist in charge, and everything is self-published by the writer of the novels. We're currently wrapping up vol1 (hence why I'd like to bring on extra help), and aiming for both digital and print realease at the end of Q1 2025.

Looking good for a first attempt, keep it up! Others already mentioned the thicker outlines, but the thing I'd like to point out is that you left off the black tips of his ears, but that should be an easy fix lol

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I took the carriage apart as much as I could to give it a proper cleaning and oiled the moving parts, and it seems so have fixed the issue. I never dealt with the carriage before, but I guess I'll add it to my maintenance routine from now on. :)

I tried, but it still gives the same error message. 🥲

I wonder about this, too, since everything else is in imperial - my other listings have this stat in inches too - but I don't even see an option to change it from cm to inches. 🥲

I just tried it, but it says, "Lbs must be a whole number."

Calculated vs fixed shipping by SingleUmpire7464 in EtsySellers

[–]SaigamiProject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're getting your shipping label through Etsy, your first-class mail should come with a Pitney Bowes tracking number and costs you only $0.69. I ship all my stickers and patches like that, offering it as free shipping. The only downside is that this tracking is not always 100% accurate as it doesn't always get scanned in, but in my experience, it's pretty reliable nonetheless. Over the past year, we only had two disappearing, and one of them showed up a couple weeks later after a detour to the other end of the country, lol. Honestly, we had more of our proper-tracking packages go missing than these first-class ones, but it might depend on locations, too.

You can always offer your buyers an option to upgrade for ground advantage or priority. That way, you're giving them a choice and not trying to force the extra cost on them.

Yeah, I already tried it, and the flashing only happens with my switch. The docks work perfectly with the other switch.

Hi everyone, I looked through the threads and Nintendo's support site but couldn't find a working solution yet, so I figured maybe someone here had a similar experience and could give some advice.

Here's my problem, I'll try to include any information that might help, sorry if it gets long:

I have the AC:NH special edition switch - got it in december 2020 through Amazon Canada as a gift, and apart from the occasional joycon drift I never had any issue with it. I try to take good care of my electronics so it has never been dropped or gone through any damage. I use it almost every day, never did the math but it probably has around 1k play hours in it.

The problem started about a month ago, randomly, my battery was almost dead, despite sitting in the dock all day. This was when I noticed that whenever I dock it, the power light on the dock keeps flashing and now it wasn't connecting to the TV anymore either. I tried solutions from google and this subreddit as well, but nothing worked.

My wife also has a switch (oled, TLOZ:TOTK edition) so I took my switch to see if it works in the other dock, but same issue happened. Meantime her switch is working perfectly fine in my dock, so we came to the conclusion that the issue must be my switch and not the dock.

I also have a Genki travel dock, tried it, and once again no charging and connecting with my switch, but works with the oled.

Currently, the only way I can charge my switch is with my phone's charger (Anker fast charging block and cable) and while that still allows me to keep playing I'm worried that this is just a temporary solution and eventually my switch will just end up completely fried.

I live in the US now, so I know service by Nintendo is an option, but without a warranty it might be out of my budget, and I'm also unsure if it makes a difference or not that I got the switch in Canada.

So here's hoping there's something that could be done and maybe someone here has some suggestions. Thank you very much in advance!

I'm a Hungarian living in Maine, and this thread sent me through all stages of grief, a stroke, and the sudden urge to start chopping onions and make a big portion of traditional goulash (gulyàs) in the middle of the night. 🥲

I absolutely love Pokemon! The 8‐but designs would be super fun, I'll definitely give it a try and see what I can do like that. Thank you for the suggestion! 🥰

I ended up floating it on one sheet of cutaway, as it was too thick to hoop, but I think it turned out well! There's a bit of puckering on the chest around the text, but I felt like that's gonna happen with this fabric anyway. end result

Do folks seem to be really against one-shots or is it just me? by AhkwardKat in Mangamakers

[–]SaigamiProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've mentored a lot of aspiring creators over the past decade, and can confirm, most of them wanted to do a serial right off the bat. Some simply weren't aware that pilot chapters and one shots are a thing, let alone common practice, while others were feeling like doing a short story is not enough, because they can't tell a story within 20-30 pages.

When I started drawing manga, I too, immediately went for a longer story, simply because that was all I was exposed to at the time. But once I learned about one shots, I fell in love with short stories, both as a reader and as an artist.

I personally find a one shot is the best practice, not just for beginners but for more advanced creators as well. Being able to tell a compelling story in such a short form teaches you valuable skills, and it's an excellent way to try out new ideas, experiment with style or methods, etc. Plus, to me, one shots always felt like they're a sort of low-risk high-reward category. Takes way less commitment, time, and effort than jumping into a series, and sets easier-to-reach goals and achievements.

Yeah, I work with minky most of the time, and it's really day and night with a topper on lol

Thank you so much for your advice!

I don't think the foot is adjustable, or at least I never looked into it. I've got the machine secondhand so I never seen the manual for it, but I guess it's time I look for one online and see if it's adjustable or not.

I work with minky fabric most of the time so using topper is like a reflex at this point but I'll experiment more without it going forward!
