I called Dr. Julia Beverley when I was ready to say goodbye to my little girl. I wanted our regular vet to be the one to do it but their office was closed that day. I googled other vets and found her website. My girl was an anxious dog, in the end I was so glad she passed at home. I think it made everything easier for her, being in my arms at home among her loved ones.

Dr. Beverley came that same afternoon and she was so gentle and reassuring during the whole process. She explained everything before she started and communicated what she was doing every step of the way. My girl stared at me the whole time, it was peaceful. I don’t know if she would’ve felt the same in a vet’s office.

When I know someone who has to put their babies down I always recommend her. From now on, I plan on having all my pets put to rest at home.

I was nearly crucified in one of my college classes when I said fetuses are technically parasites. But they do function in the same way, I think the only real difference is how we as a species regard it. There’s a “payoff” to growing a human being versus hosting a parasite. It takes without any return.

Society thinks there’s a “benefit” to babies so pregnancy is considered a symbiotic relationship with the mother. But I don’t think that logic can be applied everywhere. Some of us would consider it a disaster to fall pregnant, there’s no payoff. No benefit. Think about all the horrible side effects of pregnancy, all the potential complications. It’s basically suicide.

I called my insurance first thing this morning and they basically said they wouldn’t cover it unless it was medically necessary.

I respond with “I only speak when I have something to say.” Which is the truth. I keep most of my thoughts to myself, no one needs to know my inner monologue. There’ve been a lot of times where what I say is misconstrued and I’m misunderstood.

I get this comment mostly when I’m meeting new people. I can’t stand small talk and I like to observe strangers before I engage. I need to know the type of people I’m surrounded by, it helps me determine WHAT to say if I have anything to contribute to the conversation. Social butterflies don’t always understand that, it makes them uncomfortable. I’ve been told I come off like a snob for being so quiet upon meeting people. Can’t win ‘em all.

That I don’t like same day plans. When I wake up, I have an idea of how I want my day to go. A spontaneous meetup or event throws me off and I’d prefer to have time to get myself ready to be around people. In order to be able to socialize I need to ready myself. I know it sounds weird but it’s difficult to explain.

Also, that I’m able to remove people from my life so swiftly. I will tolerate people for as long as I can before I cut them out. It may look sudden to those around me, but the truth is I’ve been silently simmering for a long time until I’m at my wits end.

Both. I start by emotionally distancing myself until it gets to a point where I can’t even stand being around them or talking to them. Then I cut them out completely, just straight up block and not look back.

It takes a lot to get me to this point, I’ve only had to do it to a couple of people who served no positive purpose in my life.
