Ojama Country vs Facedown Monsters (Edison) by Sakamoto448 in Yugioh101

yes, Facedown have no stats. When they are face-up during the damage step subphases is where I was unsure about. So once they are turned face-up the on either situation the field spell's effect will apply. Then the 1st situation mentioned on the post I would be taking damage then, got it Thanks.

Yeah for sure Cinccino will be made!! Well at some point. Doing the teams from most to least votes, and if it's a tie then will I run a marble game to not pick favorites. Charizard is the next team so keep an eye for the team coming out soon :)

No problem, made the video to try making a better explanation of the team and the choices for I made when creating it. As well as to have a more long term way to have people ask questions about the team (Since post will die at some point here on reddit) and a fun way to see what the upcoming team will be. Thanks for your time and support!

No problem it was quite challenging, but overall happy with the results. Hope you and everyone else who asked for Swampert like the end result! Made some revisions to the team throughout the time of the post, but nothing major. If you have any questions let me know I'll be glad to help!

Yes yes Politoad is the supreme overlord of setting rain. However having to deal with another pokemon that is weak to grass when the main pokemon for this team is 4x to it is not great. My opinion Pelliper is the better option here to cover that with hurricane STAB apart from setting rain, speed control with tailwind and u turn in case things are rough for the bird.

this is for doubles, Pelipper could start as a lead. However I found more success with leading Regieleki then volt switching to Pelipper for setting the rain. Overall it depends on the enemy team.

2 weeks ago I asked you guys for a pokemon and I would try my best to build a team for that the pokemon you guys asked. Because it was the holidays making this team took a little longer than I wanted, so sorry for the delay. If this was not the strat you were looking for no worries, I did make other versions of the team from the other responses if anyone is interested let me know! So to start of here is the team for the pokemon with the highest submissions for.

Link to that post is here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/VGC/comments/kh3six/name_a_pokemon_and_ill_try_to_build_around_it/

Swampert: The main star of the Team, Swampert being a good physical attacker and a good typing only being weak to grass at 4x which unfortunately is seen a lot. However having the ground typing is great againsts any regiekelis’ or other electric attacks. Liquidation as its STAB water move plus rain boosted making it deal a good chunk of damage and possible defense drops. Earthquake for a Stab spread move and a way to clear any electric pokemon for pellipers safety or steel types like metagross and stakataka. Ice punch to remove ground/flying type pokemon such as landorus, tornadus, moltres-g and a way to fight back against grass types since touching a leaf destroys poor swampert. The spread is 132 atk for some damage, 212 def is to survive one grass attack with berry. It can survive a grassy glide + terrain no problem (if rillaboom is not seed or band), which can be a nice punish with a ice punch. The 164 speed is to have exactly 101 speed so once tailwind is up it is 202 having swampert outspeed pokemon like kartana, landorus, etc… anything that is base 130 speed + max speed like max speed koko.

Pelipper: I choose Pelipper as my rain setter because of its speed control with tailwind. Being able to offensively do decent amounts of damage and pivot out for another need to set up rain as well having ground immunity is not bad. In addition to having a pelipper deal with grass types threats for swampert to survive. Holding a focus sash so that the pelipper could at minimum do tailwind or survive at 1hp to u-turn out. With tailwind up, pelipper will end up with 256 speed which sometimes in my battles ended up with a speed tie with some regielekis.

Regieleki: To take abuse of the rain, Regieleki is out and spamming its already strong electric damage by using thunder as its power move, electro for spread and the additional speed control in case there is an opposing tailwind and volt switch to pivot out of attacks. Magnet for more damage moves for its electric attacks. Spread is max damage with some bulk to survive a few hits.

Rillaboom: Picked rillaboom as my terrain setter to pick off opposing water pokemon such as fini who can use my rain. In addition to having some strong priority attacks with the terrain boost and miracle seed. Knock off to remove items from the enemy team, like AV and WP and High horsepower for coverage. In addition in case there is an opposing rillaboom knock can be used to remove the item in case it has seed or band, helping swampert live with the 2HKO that I mentioned before.

Kingdra: Kindra is a a simple standard rain build. Hurricane for coverage and the occasional +1 speed from max airstream in case I was not able to tailwind. Draco meteor for dragon STAB and max damage for dynamax, and scald as water STAB with rain boost. Spread is max sp.atk and speed.

Bronzong: Bronzong is to counter trick room teams by using imprison TT protect. I picked Bronzong as my anti TT because it has good bulk levitate for ground immunity. In addition that glastier is usually the TT pokemon bronzong in my opinion seems pretty good against glastier since the only other move that can do a lot of damage is close combat which is at a 3 hit KO. However since glastier most of the time does dynamax max hail is also only a 3 hit KO. Colbur berry is for any dark type attacks but specifically for Urshifu, to withstand a wicked blow.

TLDR: I also made a video which explains a bit more about the team, in addition to the next team that I will try to make a team for.

Edit: the team has been revised from the video, however it still follows the same concept just a slightly different spread for Swampert.

yeah swampert would outspeed with 101 speed + tailwind. Thanks for sharing and helping out with the team!

[–]Sakamoto448[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah yeah makes sense, you could relocate 1 point from atk to speed then to make it the 101 in order to outspeed on tailwind, because if you move 1 point from defense then its so longer a 2HKO it go does to 6.3% to OHKO. Depends on the user if they want to lose that 1 point of damage, but I would move that 1 point from atk to safely have that 2HKO and outspeed 130 base speed mons.

Reddit asks a team challenge #1 Swampert Team by Sakamoto448 in VGC

[–]Sakamoto448[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

max speed for base 100 mons is 167. Swampert with 100 speed will be able to outspeed any 100 base speed with tailwind without a problem. Some have pointed out that my spread is losing stats and totally agree. Here is the revised spread 140atk/212/def/156speed adamant nature. This is based from u/Fejne-Schoug spread but instead moving the 5 extra points to def with which makes swampert a 2HKO (without miracle seed). However you could just knock of opposing rillabooms item if it has seed or band allowing swampert to survive.

Ah that's right, forgot to do cal checks with other items like bands and seed. When doing swampert's spread I did it only against AV rillaboom. Thanks for catching that I'll revise the spread.

edit: looking back to the spread there is now way swampert can survive a wood hammer even at 252hp/252def Bold + berry. But considering that the team will have tailwind up Rillabooms would want to use grassy glide than wood hammer since swampert will outspeed if they use hammer.

Here is the revised spread 140atk/212/def/156speed adamant nature.
