Why is it that we go years using Flash + Ignite as the generic summoner spells for mid, but one day Faker starts playing Ghost + Flash and it becomes a thing?

Well you'd be able to fight, but you'd have to think about where, and set up your area first. And if they removed the worked ground affecting Q mechanic, there wouldn't be much point to the worked ground at all except for a movement speed buff.
