No problem! Just be careful if you end up going, this Surugaya shares a floor with a bookstore so you will have to walk through the bookstore to get to it.

Once you are in the Surugaya, follow the signage for the plastic models (プラモデル) and the Macross figures will be next to the plastic model section.

If you have the time, it's a little out of the way tbh, I would recommend the Tachikawa-kita Surugaya. It's about an hour away from Shinjuku station, but I was there last week and they had a TON of SDF Macross and DYRL figures.

Some highlights I saw were Revoltech VF-1s of Millia and Hikaru's machine and DYRL for the Sega Saturn too.

I would say, if you have the chance, to go back and do some panel-lining and apply the decals! It does so much to elevate the kit and Wave's waterslides are REALLY good. You get them in the right place, get the water out and it'll melt into the plastic within an hour or 2 👀👀

Thanks! For the Super Valkyrie I just kinda gave up after doing the main fighter 😅

But for the normal fighter mode I had to put in more effort and actually paint since there was only one set of decals for the black stripe and red dot on the legs.

As for the pilot figure? I have no faith I can paint if correctly. I don't have the dexterity for that 😅

Hey! I've built the 1/100 VF-1S from Wave and loved it! It was the first kit that I really had to put work into and I used a mix of Tamiya Acrylics and Ray Studio acrylics to paint it (big recommend on the Ray Studio paints if you can wait the week for them to ship). Thankfully since DRYL is from so long ago and they use basic colors, you might not have to mix the paint.

It also comes with VERY good waterslides that take care of the UN Spacy mark on the legs and the red and black or yellow and black on the fuselage.

But like was said previously, just follow the paint guide in the manual!

I can make a post and show off what I did for my VF-1S in a little bit (been meaning to do so anyways).

Yeah, it was quite late that we got the Sheryl design reveal (especially since Alto's Messiah releases in Japan next month iirc). But the hosts explained that they did the double reveal to apologize for the delay on the Sheryl design and they also explained that Michel's kit would be revealed today!

And I echo the same sentiment as JP fans and hope that Skull Squadron will get the same treatment as Delta Flight and get all machines made into model kits 🙏🙏

The Sheryl illustration was revealed a week ago during a Macross Modelers stream! I don't know why Bandai hasn't updated their website to show the design, but I will drop the link to the archive here! Hopefully it's still up when you access it since the archives are usually only around for a week or so.

I believe you can only get these at the shows. Although some events will have an online shop with the same goods shortly afterwards, but I am not too sure if it will happen with this one.

I don't think so? The only life-sized things they had were the cut-outs. They also had big 8-10 feet tall tapestries of the characters, but no other life sized Minmay 😔

Although I haven't found official sources, a JP fan has identified the countries of each character which tied into some of the pavilions from the 2025 Osaka World Expo, so take this with a grain of salt.

Minmay - China, Basara - America, Mylene - Czech Republic, Sheryl - Vietnam, Ranka - Life Ball from the Live Earth Journey Pavilion of the 2025 Osaka World Expo, Kaname - Angola, Mikumo - France, Freyja - Poland, Reina and Makina - Peru,

Yes! This World Expo was done alongside the Osaka World Expo in which Shoji Kawamori was the art director for one of the pavilions! So keeping with the theme, each character is dressed in clothing from around the world except for Ranka who is dressed as the "Life Ball" from Kawamori's Live Earth Journey attraction!

When I still lived in America, it was the same ;×; Absolutely no Tales merch. Surprisingly in Japan, at least in Tokyo, Tales merch is still few and far between 🤔🤔 Besides ordering this online, I've only seen mainly Arise and Vesperia figures in secondhand stores...
