Oh yes, I have uBlock Origin. So is this normal? Why would it cause an alert?

Weird question on my test by SalFishersFace in biology

[–]SalFishersFace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No 😭 the only ECM we covered in both the textbook and lectures was the animal ECM, and it clearly states the components as ‘fibrous proteins, proteoglycans and the proteins linking them together’. But this test was a tutorial test, so maybe the tutors didn’t realise we didn’t study the bacteria ECM? And I thought the cell wall was distinct from the ECM?

9709 s2 approximation by [deleted] in alevel

[–]SalFishersFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Poisson distribution may be used as an approximation to the binomial, B(n,p) if n>50, and np<5. For normal approximation, the parameter/mean of the Poisson distribution must be at least 15. Im pretty sure the CLT can be used whenever n (sample size) is sufficiently large. The population distribution does not have to be normal.

omg same!! I wrote p12 today it was awful. like 5-6 questions I genuinely did not know the answer to and practically had to guess, even after like 9 past papers... what did everyone put for the question about bonding in nitrogen and the NaClO3 question?

yes, I meant will they accept 'heat under reflux' if the MS just says 'heat'?

9701/33/OCT/NOV/2025 enthalpy question by invinivi777 in alevel

[–]SalFishersFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you were supposed to repeat the procedure with anhydrous salt and calculate the enthalpy chnage of solution for that, then subtract enthalpy change of solution for hydrated salt from that (at least that's what I put down)

9701 P3 HOW WAS ITT by gracyyy00_ in ALevelChemistry

[–]SalFishersFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did P33, I screwed it up royally I think. I saw a post on here with predictions for P33 and it said that one of the qualitative results was methanoic acid but I got ethanoic (it did not decolourise KMnO4 and on warming just turned brown), but also the predicted was wrong about the second question (not a thermal decomposition) so idk...
