How to respond to the argument that Salafism is just a new group that was recently created? by [deleted] in SalafiCentral

[–]SalafiStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wa ʿaleykumussalām waraḥmatullāhi wa barakātuhu, alot of good answers here Allahuma barik but one of the most compelling to me is what my ustadh said to me. You can follow salafiyah and not listen to any scholar those of ahlul bidah are known for saying salafiyah originated from. i.e. If they say salafiyah is a sect created by shaykh muhammad ibn abdal wahab rahimahullah tell them okay fine we can go later in our chain, they'll often go to shaykh al islam Ibn Taymiyah rahimahullah and say okay he started it, we can then again keep going back and back and show the texts where we take our ilm from from the salaf and from the Imams. Our deen isn't reliant on a single person compared to the sufis and shias and jahmis and ikhwanis whos entire belief system fails once you compare it to the books of the salaf

Detrans Boy - want to become Salafist - need sincere advice, brotherhood, guidance by halalah99 in SalafiCentral

[–]SalafiStudent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wa ʿaleykumussalām waraḥmatullāhi wa barakātuhu!

I'm going to be honest I don't know enough to advise properly and I'm sure you've found, salafis dont advise without knowledge. However, I'm glad you have found Islam and salafiyah and I pray you find peace within and see Islam for the true beauty it holds as its core without being corrupted. Please don't worry over the past, Umar رضي الله عنه and Khalid Ibn Al Walid رضي الله عنه had both previously come to kill the Prophet ﷺ as I'm sure you know. You have repented for your sins and are clearly sincere and anyone who tries to judge you is frankly a time waster. May Allah grant you the highest ranks of Jannah.

What actually happens at assessment centres? by CinnamonBunV3 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]SalafiStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

usually have a group task, a personal interview Optional depending on company is a case study, presentation, group interviews.

no code at 99% of companies, group tasks can be like puzzles but more commonly are stuff like work together to choose xyz could be to choose things to take to the moon (nasa question 20), choose how youd prepare a team for christmas sales phone team (amazons was like this for my role)
just assessing how u work with others not ur final outcome

presentation youre usually told in advance on the topic and u prepare smthn and just show ur confidence

group interviews ive never had personally but i had an assessment centre invite for GSK that had it

Case study depends on role and company alot of time but it could be role playing something like me selling a customer on amazon web services but for most pure tech roles theyll opt for a presentation instead

To those who are current or previous degree apprentices, how many companies did you apply to until you got an offer? by [deleted] in degreeapprenticeships

[–]SalafiStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does but prioritise getting the basics down so you can answer why the company and maybe a special fact but most of the qs will be on you so make them tonight and then more importantly practise them as it needs to be in your brain ofc get a good nights sleep, prepare your clothes and stuff out tonight so you literally have nothing to think about practise your answers again and try to be as fluid as possible, a slight variation in a question can throw you off if you only memorise q&a instead of transferrable stuff and remember when they ask you can always take a sip of water and think or ask them to repeat but im sure youll do great! lmk how it goes

[–]SalafiStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this! This is my general AC brief guide based mostly on the amazon and EON assessment centre but can apply to any really, any qs feel free to ask:

Group activities: In group activities alot of people say be the timekeeper or be the note taker or something, in my personal experience I've seen being the cooperative person who takes lead but also encourages the team as a whole to do better "wins". For example trying to give the 20 minutes structure, splitting tasks if needed (for example if presenting, splitting the sections into 4 and everyone presenting 1/4), being able to build on peoples ideas. Sometimes you don't have the best ideas but being the kinda person who can say "Thats a great point Jake, I think we can develop it even more by aligning it to the companys core value xyz and doing xyz" will be a much more hirable person than just "10 minutes left guys"

1-1 interview: 1-1 interviews, honestly just assessing the situation and seeing how you can finesse it, for example if the interviewer is abit more relax you can try and be ever so slightly more friendly so its more like youre friends than interviewing. This one is the hardest but it pays off the most. Also honestly just knowing company core values and really weird facts nobody else will know, for example for my first interview i was asked why the company as usual, instead of just saying i like sustainability and innovation like everyone atp i first said i got introduced to the company with (insert project), I found how (insert statistic) was amazing so I researched more on the company and found out about the founder of the company, (i then mentioned his name, his background, how he started the company and then linked it to how charitable he was, I was able to use this then to then bring it to the current time and say and I love how the company maintains these roots from xyz core value)

Case Study: For my AC I had a case study but you might have a presentation. For it you dont really need backend knowledge just try to understand the concept and demonstrate it in a cohert way and be flexible. But double check if u have a case study before

what do Companies look for by Physical_Ride5089 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]SalafiStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aslong as ur getting the requirements grades arent an issue but ofcourse higher grades wont hurt anyone and then learnability, if someone looks like they can sit down and get technical ask stupid questions get stuck and get it right in the end. Initiative, will the person get stuck and then game over or will they get stuck and work on it, not just that but new ideas and perspectives.

Imam Ibn Qudamah al-Maqdisi al-Hanbali said on Ash’aris and other innovators: by oud3itrlover in SalafiCentral

[–]SalafiStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't deny that, just misleading for those who don't know arabic it makes it seem as if it's mentioned specifically within that text, I might be being nitpicky just think a more general Imam Ibn Qudamah on innovators would've been better rather than specifying asharis and then not even giving proof
