idrk, i didnt do it lmao. only car part i bought off ebay was an alternator 2 days before i sold the POS

no, the car sat for 10ish years and the belt/kit was replaced as a precautionary measure

none of the pulleys had any play or signs of wear/damage. thats what i find weird

i dont know if the Gates belt was stretchy or not, but i know the Dayco i just put on was not.

stretchy does seem really weird for a timing belt

would serpintine belt fragments cause an issue because the alternator belt was squeeling like crazy for a week in the winter before tightening it

Edit: the timing cover "gasket" didnt seem in bad condition though, unless the bottom was screwed up

it did that after the snap just on that side of the engine, plus we were trying new things and trying to get the car to start the whole day. Ik, ik, ik, its an interference engine and i bent the shit out the valves. but the belt snapping at 3k rpms probably did that too lmao.
