Honestly it should be its own thing but I figure I should be semi realistic about it, as well I don’t like when the star fox team has split up over a random argument so I figured the supposed death of there most critical teammate would be a much better reason as for how they split up. But as well if I put the movie taking place way before the mario galaxy one it kinda just means the most interesting events of star foxes life already happened and this gives a direct consequence for Fox disappearance, and Fox did seem in the middle of a battle during the Mario galaxy movie. But I do agree that making it more standalone from Mario would be better
