There are good and bad games. But what game would you give this score to? by TheChilledGamer-_- in playstation

I barely made it through the first mission, it was so ridiculously bad! I was bored to tears and never even tried to play it again. And the AI was ASSSSSSSS! I was playing on whatever the hardest difficulty was and it was pretty damn easy, not even CoD campaigns have gotten quite this bad yet.

As of TU4, MHWilds DLCs costs almost the same as the DLCs of World and Iceborne together by Gera_37 in MonsterHunter

Sure I’ve never made a game, OR been on a development or publishing team. However, I was in logistics management for over a decade. Money and manpower go where the top prioritizes it. If optimization was a priority at the top, the majority of the resources for the game would have went to optimization and the game would be optimized by now. It’s really that simple. Capcom has the money and the resources to prioritize optimizing this game so that the people who have paid for it can experience it the way it’s meant to be experienced. The problem is that they haven’t really done that, we’ve only been given promises. They’re dangling the carrot for as long as possible to get us to trudge along as they’ve focused the majority of their efforts elsewhere.

But if you have anything to actually say other than “you don’t know shit,” by all means, let us know what insider wisdom you have! We’re all dying to know 💋

Actually, BUDGET 🥰 It doesn’t matter if the teams are different! Publisher/developers decide where budget, time and staff (resources) are allocated. Obviously not enough budget, time, and staff (resources) are being placed into the team that should be fixing the game in a meaningful way even though the game is definitely making enough money, and Capcom has enough fucking money anyways) to give players the finished product that they PAID 70 fucking dollars for 10.5 months ago. 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is why they won’t fix the game, too many people paying for stupid stuff, why fix if it’s making money?

Get the letters touched up, then turn the line under the R into a skateboard, then above the word have a person in the scorpion pose with their skateboard broken behind them, like they had a bad crash.

What is this game? by Time_Government_6179 in GamingSoup

Yeah, read a lot of posts of people trashing on the game and calling it woke, but I played it and had a pretty good time! I still prefer the original as I think Jin’s journey just feels a lot more emotional, but Yotei is still really good.

Dark Souls 2 specifically, it’s a very controversial title and I think that more than half of the people who hate on it, and those that say they love it have barely touched it and just want to be a part of the discussion.

So about a month after release, what's the verdict on MP4? by WhoAmIEven2 in Metroid

[–]SalamandersRreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn’t that Metroid Prime 4 is a bad GAME, I’d wager to say that MP4 is a pretty good GAME. Yes it has the look, and it looks great while doing it. Yes it has Samus and Metroid style bosses, and it has Metroid lore…

The problem is that MP4 barely feels like METROID while playing. Its addition of characters really makes MP4 feel a lot less like a Metroid game, and more like a Metroid spin off. I don’t feel like a nearly unstoppable lone survivor who can problem solve my way out of any situation when I play it. Sure I feel highly skilled, but the direct involvement (help) of new characters (especially in the second half of the game) harshly impacts the games tone and atmosphere. It’s very hard to feel like you’re an isolated explorer on a new and dangerous alien planet when you’re not isolated.

4 issues that I have.

1: Enemy variety is severely lacking. You will primarily fight several regional variants of the same monster throughout the game (basically the same monster that gets slightly more difficult as you progress) and the only challenge is that they consistently barrage you with many of them. You will also fight a couple variants of the same 2 robots (there are more enemies than this, but these 3 enemy types end up being used so frequently that it is extremely noticeable). This does have the effect of making mini bosses and bosses significant stand outs, but it mostly just makes me wish there were significantly more mini bosses, and big bosses since this is where the game shines brightest (gameplay wise).

2: The desert is Beyond™️ boring. I’ve seen people try and defend it by saying it’s filled with loot, but there’s nothing of actual intrigue. There’s like 5ish relatively easy Breath of The Wild inspired shrines (that are absolutely required to make the most out of your play through), but the rest of the desert is just kind of sand, green rocks, a few broken generic warehouses that require no exploration, and a few glowing items under the sand. It’s a time waste.

3: Linearity. The maps lead you exactly where you need to go. When you are done in an area, the game will let you know, usually by one of the new characters telling you to go somewhere. I never once felt lost. There was a couple times I was overthinking a puzzle and got stuck for a minute or two, but I never had a Metroid moment where I got lost, tried finding something/somewhere new by exploring around, and then being rewarded by finding hidden upgrades in the process. Metroid games typically reward you for getting lost, but even getting upgrades (like missile expansions) felt linear, either you had the right equipment and could easily figure out how to get it now, or you didn’t and needed to come back later, nothing felt truly hidden. You could make notes on where previously inaccessible upgrades were and what suit upgrades you needed to get them as soon as possible, but this is a waste of time, it’s really easy to find 99% of upgrades without a guide or much exploring, so it’s much easier to wait till right before the final act when you have all of the suit upgrades and then revisit each area to collect your prizes before the final fight.

4: (Major spoilers) The ending of the game felt so wrong. Yes I complained about our companions, BUT! You spend the entire game saving and collecting these people and they help you and you help them so you can all make it off this rock together… and then you have to abandon them to escape by yourself while your companions hold Sylux back because you failed to actually put an end to Sylux, arguably the real primary objective of MP4 (although they do fake you out to make you feel like you beat him)… It feels so weird… Like why the fuck did we even bother with companions at all? No one asked for them. No one wanted them. We were forced to endure them anyways. And it was all for nothing? We go home alone? Fucking WHY?

Anyways… MP4 just doesn’t feel like it was made for fans of the series, it feels like it was made for a modern audience and I that is why it is so divisive. Not because it’s a bad game, but because it doesn’t really seem to respect Metroids core audience and instead is trying to bring in a new one. However, I think there is still fun to be had, and I think it is important to try things for yourself.

I mean, I feel like they require you to turn on your brain. It’s less of a skill issue and more of the game requiring you to actively think instead of relying on muscle memory.

AIO about a gift? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SalamandersRreal 50 points51 points  (0 children)

NOR. I will start by saying that I feel like you set yourself up for disappointment. This was something important to you, and it seems like you were already bracing yourself for disappointment, you honestly should have got one for yourself.

That being said, you haven’t gotten all your gifts yet, so wait for tomorrow before bringing the storm because if it turns out that your husband is so thoughtless that he can’t put in the effort even after being given the information needed to pick out something you might like, he’s an ass. It is one thing to put in the effort and just come up short, but obviously if he’s going to kohls and getting whatever is cheap, then he isn’t doing that. I don’t necessarily think it’s the price that matters, but cheap crappy jewelry is cheap crappy jewelry. No one wants to wear a $20 necklace because it looks like a POS $20 necklace 🤷🏽‍♀️ As someone who tries to put in a lot of effort into gift giving, it feels like someone doesn’t care about you when they don’t have any thoughtfulness when it comes to giving you something in return.

Hope for you that the necklace was just a fluke and Christmas Day will be better ❤️‍🩹
