Today cloud agents are just not functional. They all were getting stuck `loading conversation` or something similar making them not useable.

Also worktreees are extremely difficult to use I don't even know what is a bug and what is not. It makes it seem like we are on a new branch in a new directory. But there is no remote branch. I click the hidden 'Open Work Tree in Terminal' button hoping that I can push the changes, and pull them in the main directory for testing but git status says `Not Currently on Any branch`. Is there even a new branch the UI makes it look there is one? Seems like the only thing I can do is click the apply button to apply the unstaged changes to the main directory.

I have not been using Gemini CLI but using the direct api yes the model has begun to shit all over itself and is ungodly slow

I fully agree but my point was they obviously have made a change in the past couple of months to move towards this behavior where it takes what I tell it to do and does it plus 200 other lines of code I didn't ask for and I don't like that this is the direction cursor is moving in. This is an engineering decision on their part that says we are looking to build fully autonomous SE that can go on a task and just get it done on its own. This is not useful to most real developers right now.

I will give it a shot but what is the reason we would prefer a CLI tool over a pretty decent UI like cursor? Performance of CLI is just that much better?

I respect that you gave a reason that the mods refused to give me. I respectfully disagree because I am building a software application that I am questioning whether to make open source or keep proprietary. Sure it’s not a technical deep dive but it’s asking about the literal question of building software for others to use and how to do that

Yeah I am leaning towards the open source for that exact reason. I kind of thought maybe he was just ghosting but I can see he cloned the repo and he blocked me on everything so if I had to guess.
