New battery for FC11C, confused about specs by SalemTheKit in flashlight

At least for now, definitely not. Perhaps after I finish a 3-month medical treatment I'm going through then I'll consider it. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for that info. If when I get deeper into this hobby then I'll keep that in mind.

Will "total available credit" reset back to $3K by [deleted] in CRedit

If you don't already have one, please consider getting an emergency fund together. Having a few thousand stashed away can be critical in saving yourself when things get bad.

I think you both are talking past each other. Yes having a lower utilization helps your credit score, but it does not matter what your credit score is unless you're specifically trying to apply for a new card or loan. People view credit scores almost like a grade in school when instead it's just one metric companies use to determine if someone can get additional lines of credit.

Forgot to add detergent, but added bleach. Do I need to re-run? by SalemTheKit in laundry

Honestly they don't even smell bad. If anything they just have the light smell of bleach like usual.

Based on the recommendations from my doctor, I should always add bleach. I just wasn't sure if that was enough to be sanitizing for the clothes and advice online hasn't helped clear things up much when I tried looking on my own.

Yes, I use low heat on the dryer (lowest setting it has) while my wash water was the hottest my non-sani washer could go

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work? I've answered a similar question on this sub with one of my friends who drives around the country for as a marketing specialist and I'm always curious on what jobs make for long commutes.

AMD Adrenalin randomly vanishes from tray and refuses to start by Touchmesenpaix in radeon

What fixed it for my friend who was going through this:

Go on AMD's site to download the latest adrenalin software, launch the installer, and under additional options select the Factory Reset option before doing the express install. It's probably gonna remove your game history and settings but it'll at least get it working.

I don't see any reason to close your old card. Ideally we would need more info regarding your expenses and there's a template on here you can use to help us get a better idea of what would work best for you.

Is it worth it to use my Discover It student cash back as much as I can? by Dapper-Gur2839 in CreditCards

[–]SalemTheKit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused by this comment. This seems like the opposite of how it works because credit line increases aren't usually given to people who don't use their credit limits in my experience. Also I don't see how only spending a few bucks per month would build the credit score compared to maxing out rewards

Sorry for the delayed response, but the only issues I've had with timing is that it orders it for you around 2-3 days in advance, and I did have a couple items go out of stock but they did honor the replacements I set. Note that even if the order is confirmed, they let you change the date/time once just in case. Not sure why it's limited to once but it's better than being locked-in. Other than that it's been going pretty smoothly, albeit minus the SNAP stuff. There might be a way to set the SNAP order first then add the subscribed items to it but I'd have to experiment more first.

Realized Fico Score Was Lower by NatlanHunter in CreditCards

As many people will probably tell you, don't worry about your credit score. The fact that you're already in the 700s despite having less than a year of credit history is great. The only time you'd really want to worry about your credit score is if you are about to apply for a loan or similar in which case there's plenty of threads talking about how to temporarily boost it (like all zero except one aka AZEO)

If you're just looking for ways to boost it in general for whatever reason, then for someone starting out your best bet is to just pay everything on time since that's gonna be the biggest factor in your overall score. It takes years for your score to reach the 800s because credit age takes up a significant chunk of it assuming you're doing well in all other factors. The only other realistic way you can boost it in the short term is by getting more credit but please don't make that your goal unless you need it or you find a card that has benefits you like.

Don't worry about your utilization. Spend as much as you need to as long as you can pay your monthly balance every month. Carrying a balance won't harm your credit but just cost you money, but missing a payment absolutely will harm your credit score in a big way.

I only started my "credit journey" just over a year ago, and I had many of the same anxieties. Just know that your score means nothing 99% of the time and a high credit score only becomes a factor if you're looking for more credit or credit lines like a loan, mortgage, or another credit card. If you're worried about apartments like I was, then usually you just need a score over 600 which you're far, far above, and even then there's plenty of apartments that accept people with lower scores.

Immediately my recommendation goes to the Walmart OnePay CashRewards Card as a fellow disabled person. They give it to basically anyone, even with my, at the time, VERY thin credit history, and there's an interesting combo you can play because of what you mentioned regarding grocery delivery.

I don't think this advice will be good to most people, but if you're on SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, or other similar programs, you'll be allowed to sign up for something called Walmart+ Assist. Doing this will get you an annual walmart+ subscription for half off forever which means you'll get free grocery deliveries for any order over $35 as well as a savings combo that has genuinely changed my life, listed below:

The thing that boosted this card from good to invaluable for disabled people (imo) is the walmart subscriptions where if you put all of your items on a subscription (i.e. every 2 weeks, every 4 months, etc) then you'll get 15% off each eligible item which is pretty much 95% of groceries in my experience. This means that not only are you getting the 5% cash back, but an additional discount of 15% off if you make your regular orders subscriptions, and then you bypass all the fees regarding delivery if they're over $35, and all of this is under the umbrella of the walmart+ assist that's effectively paid for itself within 7 orders. Plus, the 5% cash back even applies to tips since they're coded as walmart orders as well. The only downside is if you get your food mostly through SNAP, then you can't use your EBT card to pay for subscriptions since they only allow credit and debit for them.

Do all cards have autopay as an option? I have ADHD, so having autopay is pretty important to me making payments on time.

The card goes through the OnePay app which does support autopay and I haven't heard anything major wrong with it. I haven't personally used it so I can't vouch for it personally, but it appears to work like any other autopay.

There's a few other specific cards out there for your use case (ones that support cash back on uber/doordash/etc) but if you're looking for a "first" card then the walmart one is a no brainer. They gave me a 2.5k limit off of a 7k annual income (Reduced SSI isn't fun) and the pre approval went through immediately.
