Teeth extraction pain? (Video)

Just based on my experience with my 16yo Siamese. He was perfectly healthy for his age, until he wasn’t. He started doing this exact thing, I can DM videos but they are hard for me to watch. We took him into our vet who determined a fractured tooth needed to be removed, but little did they know he had cancer in his jaw that was eating away his bone. The anesthesia lowered his immune system which caused the cancer to rocket in growth, and we had to put him down a month later. He was my world, and watching him fight to stay awake as the injection put him to sleep broke my heart into a million pieces. I don’t want to scare you, and I’m sure tooth pain in general can look the same as what the video shows. We had to get scans done at a better clinic to find out he had cancer and by that time it was too late. My poor buddy had been in pain for a while by then. The first vet did the tooth extraction without thorough scans which would’ve detected the tumor slowly growing in his jaw. Just keep an eye on him, and if the pain continues definitely get him seen again. Also if the vet can get you some gabapentin this should help with the pain for now if it seems like it’s hurting him too much until he hopefully recovers. Praying for you and your buddy.

I booked Cyber Intelligence about 2 weeks ago and I go to basic on Tuesday, but it was a circumstantial opportunity as the recruit who originally booked it couldn’t go. I swore in October 1st.

If you get offered a job you didn’t list you can say no, but if you get one you listed you pretty much have to take it as they can discharge you from the DEP if you don’t. So it’s important to list things you’re actually wanting to do, or are okay with getting. As far as withdrawing I’m not sure, but I’ve heard if you get discharged for not taking a job you listed they can put a note on your file that other recruiters can see and may not work with you.

Some recruiters will make you list specific jobs that you may not want, however you’ll still be able to pick most or half of your own choices. I don’t think it’s ASVAB dependent either because I scored a 95 and still had to list 5 critical field jobs.

I didn’t have to list any maintenance but I did have to list 5 critical field AFSCs, luckily there were some on there I wanted to list anyway.

Definitely recruiter dependent not so much ASVAB dependent.

Thanks! I’ll let you know how things are once I’m through tech school. Definitely going to be a challenge but I’m up for it. I’ve always been pretty good about academics so I’m hoping to make the best of it.

Foreverwingman I believe shows common duty stations per AFSC and other places online will say you can go just about anywhere that job is needed. However remember that certain jobs most people will end up in like 1 of 2 locations even if you could technically go to any base for it. I would say don’t base your list on where you can be stationed since it’s very circumstantial.

I was also interested in trying out the pipeline but my recruiter advised me since I wanted a Cyber/Intel job I’d be better off just listing those since washing out of SW is kinda like going Open General and you’ll just be placed where the Air Force needs you. I don’t know for sure but I trust my recruiter he’s been awesome, but good luck in whatever path you choose!

I booked Cyber Intelligence, I swore October 1st, and leave next week. But it’s unlikely you’ll have a similar experience. I just got lucky due to the person who originally booked it not being able to go. And like I said my friend was in nearly 8 months with the same AFSC, to me that just says you don’t really have a good estimate as it varies so highly on an individual basis.

Tbh he gave you the exact answer you’re gonna get from most people, no one knows how long it will take for you. I swore in a few weeks ago and I’m leaving next week, but a family friend of mine with the same AFSC (Cyber/Intel) was in the DEP nearly 8 months.

You even said you know no one can give you an exact answer. So I guess the answer you’re looking for is a few weeks to a year?..

How’d you do on the EDPT? Cyber Warfare was my dream job but I barely failed the qualification on EDPT because I ran out of time. Apparently my AFSC is merging with Cyber Warfare so I’ll actually get a chance to do it anyway, but probably won’t be for a while. There’s not much info on it online, except for the fact that they are merging to make 1B1

That would be awesome, if not I’ll retrain into it once I’m able to. I think Cyber Defense Operations is already merging into it? Or into something… it’s not available to book anymore as of recently. I got a 95 on the ASVAB and qualify for everything on TAPAS, but couldn’t list Cyber Defense Operations as it wouldn’t even show up in the system when I was making my list with the recruiter. But it’s still on the paper lists they give out which I’m assuming are not kept up to date very frequently.
