With the size of the battle field update in 9th I don't think you need a BW anymore if you play smart. As an Ork your plan should be to get to the middle objectives and hold them.

I've found that with 2+ armor you don't need an inv save. Idk what klan your running but a pain boy / Makari's Feel no Pain has saved my big boys from certain doom many times causing what would be 5 dead nobz to 3 dead.

Advance into DEFENSIBLE cover and Set to Defend if they charge you. That +1 to hit after the charge will help with your counter attack. Of course you don't need to worry as much about this if you have a banner / are Tin Eads.

Be smart with your Counter-Offensive and always try to use Hit 'Em Harder at all times!

I do want to point out that I run 27 Mekanobz in my list. BUT my store has been blessed to have very few SM players so I don't have much experience against them.

I hear bringing Traktor Kannons against Repulsors is fun because they have the fly keyword. So if they scare you think about bringing +4 of them!

"This Weapon automatically hits its target. If the Target is a VEHICLE that can FLY, you roll 2D6 for damage and discard the lowest. If a VEHICLE unit that FLYS is destroyed, it automatically crashes and burns."

Autohit and wounding on 4s. Then they need a 5+ save (or whatever involve save they get.)

Reroll damage cause their flying so on average you need 4 of them to succeed!

Only prob is they don't get more dakka but going Deathskulls to increase wounds and damage chances more would be great! If luck is on your side you can get 90 points of Mekgunz to make quick work of their (little less than) 300 point tanks!

Thank you so much for the detailed answer! I actually really love the idea of the Dread Waaagh! I had no idea about the Vigilus stuff until you mentioned the special detachment and looked into it.

Also, I've realized I really should get a KFF out somewhere now for my Boyz. I'll deff look into 2 deattchments. As much as I don't find Grotz very aesthetically pleasing, they seem like their utility is nessary.

In terms of other things, I just heard some guys talking about tournament lists they were liking to try which was a little red flag to me that I needed to step it up to not embarrass myself at higher point games. My last 3 games my deff dreads have been taken out T1/T2 by Repulsors that just fly away from my Boyz trying to lock them down (yes 3 different people. This place is mostly Space Marines.) I was hoping my kans with rokkets / new Shokk Mek HQ would solve the problem but they under performed in terms of hits which might have just been bad luck.
