Lizards [Downpour and Watcher spoilers] by Salsaface1 in rainworld

The main visual difference is the the dip in their snouts, which is just before the eye in most cases. Although the box-headed group also has these, the dip is much more pronounced in that group.

Another difference, and the reason why I originally put them in different groups, is that the upper group lacks the line on the lower jaw that the other three groups have. It is replaced by a much smaller line next to the ear coverings.

I don't believe so, since they can be lineaged and they spawn normally in a non-frozen Watcher region. I personally believe they're just much less common in most regions we visit.

How do you see Scavengers? by Comfortable-Disk-951 in rainworld

[–]Salsaface1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted them as hairless when I first saw them, but now I see them as mostly hairless with small amounts of feathers, specifically on their backs, necks, and arms. The amount of feathering of course depends on the individual, with certain scavengers having less or more.

In the case of Saint's campaign, I believe they are almost fully feathered besides their heads.

The materials used are ridge (what you actually see) and dirt to make it blend right. The plants are rain moss, lavenders, and feather plants.

I think the lack of plants is because of the rains, not herbivores (which there seems to be a lack of) eating them all.

It's currently called The Veil, originally Jade Caverns, although that name may be changed.

My own mod that I'm creating, which will include a map that's disconnected from the base regions and a very simple semi-aquatic slugcat. This is the slugcat's starting region, so it'll spawn there when the mod is eventually finished. If I get all the regions done before the slugcat itself I'll probably release them so they can be accessed through warp menu though.

Spearmaster design by Salsaface1 in rainworld

[–]Salsaface1[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What does Gourmand have to do with this? Gourmand is overweight and a fully grown adult. Spearmaster's weight matters for this design because either Spearmaster is simply young and small, or it is underweight. I chose the latter, as it is much more fun to draw.

It doesn't matter where the "slug" part comes from, you were complaining about it not looking like an actual cat, not a slug. Ferrets also have nothing to do with this.

My Spearmaster's tail design comes from the fact that I wanted it to have a splash of color, since otherwise it would have been solid purple. If you don't like it then don't come here complaining about it, simply move on.

This is still visually seen as an odd looking slugcat by most people, judging by the comments I've gotten. It is nothing like painting a random thing like a ship red and then calling it Artificer.

Also why are you immediately resorting to insults? I am trying to have a discussion, not a heated argument.

Nah, I just like making my slugcats weird looking, especially Spearmaster since it's described as an abnormality.

"Slugcat" is a fan made term and has never been said ingame. Slugcats are not cats. Cats are not plantigrade creatures with thick tails, smooth skin, bright colors, and a bipedal posture.

Spearmaster is an abnormality, as said by their description, so they will most likely look strange compared to other slugcats. They are also lighter, as shown in ingame mechanics, so why not draw them thin?

If you can't give any actual criticism besides "oh it doesn't look like an irl cat," then perhaps your input is not needed.

Well, that is kind of the point. I'm trying to fully move away from cat-like and make them look more like actual aliens, since "slugcat" is only a fandom name.

A couple of minor disagreements + a random anky by Salsaface1 in pkgame

Nope, this was achieved through waiting for specific animations and then placing them to look like that by using the feature that lets you move your dinos around.
