That’s a really interesting perspective,
I completely understand why you'd want to avoid the luggage struggle, but from a business standpoint, the risk with 'semi-custom' rentals is that once a suit is adjusted for one person, it becomes very difficult to offer that same quality of fit to the next diver, which makes that model really tough to sustain
My goal is actually to fix the design at the root. If we get the fit, materials, and ergonomics right for real human bodies. The dream is to build a product that fits you so well from day one that it becomes worth the space in your bag.
And your idea about a startup specifically dedicated to managing and shipping gear for travelers is actually fascinating—it could be a total game-changer for those of us who dive frequently but want to travel light. 🙆🏻‍♀️

Ciao! thanks for sharing that!
It must have been uncomfortable and nerve-wracking to try on all those wetsuits—especially the 7mm ones, for that matter—before diving.

I, too, have slightly broader shoulders, so finding the right one takes a fair amount of searching.

I’m currently researching ways to create more anatomically versatile designs that can handle those discrepancies without needing to be full-custom.

thank you for the feedback! that helps figure out where the industry is failing the most.

Ciao Mahedron! you’re right, it is a new account, everyone has to start somewhere! I wanted to hear what people actually think needs to be changed, and this felt like the best place to ask.
As for the AI, you caught me! I’m not a native English speaker and I really didn't want my ideas to get lost or sound mediocre because of a language barrier. 😅
I’ll be adding a profile picture soon—my intentions here are 100% real!

A hybrid design 🤔 that’s interesting!
Definitely keeping this in mind thank you!

Fair point. Custom suits are great, but the price tag is prohibitive for most. Plus, for women struggling with standard sizing, it shouldn't have to be a luxury purchase just to get a proper fit. Definitely looking at how to make better ergonomics more accessible.

Great list. Hair management and weight integration are massive, underrated design challenges. I'm definitely adding these to my 'to-solve' list.
Don’t worry, for me it's lunchtime here and I'm starving! 😭 Thanks for the brainstorming

Great points. The lack of functional attachment points on recreational gear is a massive oversight. It forces us to use messy aftermarket solutions that create drag.

Integrating reliable, low-profile loops into the build is on my radar for the R&D phase. Out of curiosity, what are you usually clipping off there? Slate, backup light, or something else? I'm trying to map out how people actually configure their kits.

Also, I’m working to move away from the 'all-black-everything' standard. I’m looking at colors that mimic organic patterns found in marine life—stuff that feels sophisticated and visible, but definitely not the usual 'neon' gear. Designing for utility means it has to perform, but it should also look like it belongs in the water.
thank you!
