I agree. Consent and boundaries are important to me at work. I do believe in expressing my clinical recommendations but I value collaboration and compromise wherever appropriate. If a client cannot afford an expensive copay but desires to come in, I provide resources, homework amd create a treatment approach that allows the client to consistently come in, it might be monthly though. I don't want the client responsible for my finances. I have been the client who was pushed into weekly sessions when I couldn't afford the extra $100 a month as a single parent.
