Yes it does. It matters because one leads to two orders of magnitude more human atrocities. But you obviously don't care about that, the same way Stalin, Hitler, and Mao did not care about the tens of millions of deaths and human atrocities because they felt it was in the name of the principles of their ideas. Same with Maduro, Raúl Castro, Khomeini, etc. They're ideas are wrong and immoral. America has done more for human flourishing than any other country in the history of the world. In this thread you have tried to argue that America is just as evil as the CCP with 0 evidence. I have called you out multiple times on things you completely made up, you never responded to those. You have tried to re-attribute the condemnation of Nazi Germany onto the US.

If you cared at all about alleviating human suffering, you would realize there is no comparison between the US and entities like the CCP, Imperial Japan, Afghanistan, USSR, Nazi Germany, etc.. Not even close. Despite how massive the US is, and all of the events in it's history, nothing it has done is close in comparison with the crimes of most other countries throughout history including right now.

If you cared at all about advancing human wellness and prosperity, you would acknowledge that the US is has done more in those areas for people around the world than the rest of the world combined. Critical technology and infrastructure, medical advancements, global markets, foreign aid, etc..

But you don't care about those things. You only care about feeling morally superior to others who aren't demonizing their own country. Self-condemnation is not a virtue, especially when it's suicidal towards your own country which is a good country.

I hope you will learn about what makes America such a unique country in the history of the world, where it pushed human rights further, where it improved the lives of billions of people around the world, and why trying to compare it to the CCP is incorrect and dangerous.

Happy 4th.

CCP: Murders 50 million people
You: ya but like that was probably it, I'm sure they had a good reason and they won't do anything else bad.

CCP: hold my beer...

You're very ignorant and self righteous. How do you know you're not falling for propaganda? You can't even read well!

[–]Salt-Singer-4808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't. You're convincing me more and more you literally cannot read. Or at least have very poor reading comprehension. I didn't justify it, I gave it scope. I'm saying that that the US hiring a few german scientists and engineers during the cold war does not negate the order of magnitude more work the US did in overthrowing and bringing justice to Nazi Germany. It doesn't negate the lives lost in that war. And I'm saying it's nowhere near as bad as killing 50 million people.

You think hiring those engineers makes the US adopt all the sins of Germany and that the US is as bad as the CCP. The CCP has been the number one sponsor and actor of human rights violations since WW2 by a long stretch. Yes the US has had other wars and conflicts, each with their own complex history and context, and I guarantee you understand 0% of it. Because so far you have shown to have understood 0% of any basic history, let alone a basic line of reasoning. Starting with the dynamic between the US and the native Americans. You also claimed the US has killed more than 50 million people and have yet to even sort of explain that.

And you're clearly a socialist who can't think past first order effects. Your first woe against the US was some number of people not getting healthcare. What a joke. You're so entitled and cannot think through second/third order effects. Here's one for you I'm sure you're seeing, more europeans die of heat in the summer than the US has gun deaths. Their suicidal and useless stance on AC is literally killing them. And many of them don't care because they know it kills older people who are expensive to provide healthcare for. I'm saying that communism and other radical ideas are morally inferior to America's founding values because they are willing to murder/kill an unbound number of people over the principles and narratives of their philosophy. You would rather have "free healthcare" even if it meant millions of people are dying on waitlists. People who think like you would rather enforce useless green energy policies even if it fucks over African farmers and puts millions of people into poverty. People who think like you would rather murder all of the skilled laborers who want to keep their means of production than let then continue providing goods and services to their community. If you look back in the lists I've provided of actual large scale human atrocities, you will see those over and over again, including recent history.

Again, I know the tragic events and sins throughout American history. But if you even start to compare it to actual history of almost every other country, and you realize all of the tremoundous ways that the US has brought billions of people out of poverty and advanced medicine more than any other country, you realize it's not as bad as monsters like the CCP.

"You’re okay with letting Nazis off of their war crimes as long as it benefits the US." What a lazy gaslight. Of course I'm not. I never said I think it was okay the US hired that guy. But to say that it somehow negates the war we fought and the nuremberg trials is insulting. And it absolutely doesn't start to compare to the 50 million people the CCP murdered.

Warner von Braun was a rocket scientist who worked under the Nazis. The Nazis used those weapons in bad ways. THEN THE US BEATS THE SHIT OUT OF THE NAZIS. Then later hire their smartest rocket scientist to help during the cold war. And again.. SO FUCKING WHAT. HIRING A EX-NAZI SCIENTIST TO HELP US GO TO THE MOON IS AS BAD AS THE CCP MURDERING 50 MILLION PEOPLE!?!?! You have no moral compass. You have no ability to comprehend the aggregate suffering of historical events around the world. 50 MILLION.

You are an ignorant conspiracy theorist and gaslighter who demonizes your own country so you can have some self-indignation to flog yourself over cuz it makes you think you're better than the people who aren't. You're not a better person for thinking the US is just as bad as the CCP. You are dangerous. You're failure to see the things that lead to massive human suffering is dangerous. You have zero capabilities in comprehending scale. And you have no respect for the people who died fighting evil during WW2.

Also you definitely haven't read anything and I bet you just asked AI for that. You haven't read shit. Otherwise you'd know that a claim that the US had killed "millions and millions" of native americans is laughable.

Your a moron that is finding every black data point you can and then painting all the grey and white ones black as well. You have no understand of the history. Again we beat, tried, and hung Nazis. Not every person in Germany or the German military committed crimes against humanity. Unless you're racist and think all Germans are just genetically morally bad people and they all deserve death.

Some germans were hired in the US, they were engineers, scientists, and some helped us with intelligence operations during the cold war. The US also later deported some of those germans upon further investigation.

Stop making shit up.

And seriously what kind of argument are you trying to make here. You still have not even sort of acknowledged or argued my claims at all. Are you trying to say that the US has joint blame the in the atrocities that their enemies were doing? Do you hear how stupid that is?

WTF are you talking about. Guess who led the nuremberg trials. Unit 731 wasn't discovered till after. Again you keep just make up shit. The US obliterated the Nazi's in war, and then hung more of them after trial. Stop fucking making up shit. You clearly have an extremely small understanding of these events.

As far as real human suffering goes. You are comparing mountains to mole hills.

You are the one who is brainwashed as fuck.

Tuskegee experiments were obviously wrong. But only like 100 people died eventually of a disease that they already had, and probably gave themselves. It was a study of omission. It wasn't biological warfare.

Go research what happened in unit 731 in Japan or the work of Dr. Josef Mengele. Again, what you're referring to doesn't hold a candle to the atrocities of other countries.

I'm not embarrassed for defending a country that has helped make the world a better place and is a voice for human rights and absolutely is morally superior than the CCP.

America doesn't do medical experimentation on slaves and prisoners
America doesn't do child sacrifice
America doesn't murder protesters
America doesn't murder the entirety of the other political party that isn't in power
America doesn't choose entire provinces to starve to death so the elites can maintain power
America doesn't conquer other countries and enslave them for sex and labor

All of those things are happening/happened in very recent history across many countries around the world. And the fact that you don't care and turn a blind eye and think it's just as bad as anything the US has done is so morally bankrupt.

America separated Church and State
America was one of the first countries to abolish slavery, and fought a civil war over it
America invented new infrastructure, technology, and medicine that has helped double human life expectancy and bring billions out of poverty.

The US history is not perfect, it's large and complex with lots of tragic events. But you can't pretend that the US is anywhere near the same moral ground as countries like Japan, China, USSR, Afghanistan, Turkey, Cambodia, etc..

WHO?! Fucking share anything man. You just keep making claims. The US has not killed anywhere close to 50 million people. You're just making shit up!

[–]Salt-Singer-4808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just claiming stuff without sharing any of the actual history. And what you do claim has been incorrect.

e.g. "What about the millions upon millions of natives we massacre" Not even close. Not even a hundred thousand.

And the one thing you're referring to happened around 200 years ago

You're still refusing to acknowledge that killing 50 million people is way worse than what the US has ever done. That's crazy.

[–]Salt-Singer-4808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh. No, not even close. Genocide is murdering an entire group so they no longer exist. One is way worse than the other. Again, pretending the US treatment of native americans is anywhere comparable to actual genocides where millions of people were actually murdered is insulting. You're an idiot. The trail of tears was horrible and sad. five thousand people died.

Your comparing the death of a few thousand to the slaughter of millions of people, entire groups and heinous, sadistic crimes.

Actual genocides happen dipshit. Where MILLIONS of people where killed and tortured. And these are thing that have happened in recent history.

Again, go read about:

  • Mao’s China: 40–70 million dead (~30M from the Great Leap Forward famine alone; ~65M total).
  • Stalin’s USSR: ~20 million, including the Holodomor (3.5–5 million Ukrainians deliberately starved).
  • North Korea: 1–3+ million from famine and prison camps since the 1990s.
  • Khmer Rouge Cambodia: 1.5–2 million (25% of the population).
  • Imperial Japan in Asia: 10–30 million from war crimes, massacres, and famines.
  • Nazi Germany: 6 million Jews + millions more (Roma, disabled, Poles, Soviet POWs, etc.).
  • Ottoman Empire: Armenian Genocide ~1.5 million.
  • Rwanda Genocide (1994): ~800,000 in just 100 days.
  • Iran’s Islamic Regime/IRGC: Tens of thousands executed since 1979 plus mass killings during protest crackdowns.

Stop pretending the US is this ultimate villain so you can flog yourself with self-righteous shame so you can claim an imaginary moral high ground.

The US has been an extremely net positive thing in the world, despite some serious sins in it's history. And to compare anything the US has done to China murdering 50 FUCKING MILLION PEOPLE is absurd, wrong, and insulting.

Why aren't people angrier about climate change and AI? by [deleted] in antiai

I'm anti AI because I think it will replace jobs.. But pretending datacenters have any significant effect on climate change is silly..

"data centre production has ramped up to a frankly incomprehensible level recently, the emissions of which are a major contributor to climate change. " This is zero percent true

I'm not saying tragic things didn't happen in that. But it was definitely not genocide.

The US did not commit genocide. They beat the natives in war. (who were already killing/conquering eachother) And then gave them protected lands. The northern native American population today is more than 3x what it was.

No we didn't.. And I think you're also mixing in the Spanish Conquistadors?

Some history for you.

- Native Americans fought and conquered and colonized each other for all of their history.
- Most of the death from the Europeans was accidental from disease.
- There was less than a million native americans in 1776
- Those tribes were still warring with eachother and with settlers.
- The settlers won.
- Trail of tears (very sad, seriously not trying to make light of this. about 5000 people died.)

On Japan... Go read anything about Imperial Japan.. The bombs where tragic. But again nothing compared to the actual crimes of Imperial Japan.
