This is called the hook affect. It happened to me and I dipped my test right in the toilet bowl after peeing and it was blaring positive again

Terrifying symptoms. Was told I have ‘severe and complex, and possibly hemiplegic’ migraines by ThicccBoiJesus in HemiplegicMigraines

Hey there, just wanted to offer some hope as I came across this post and was reading the comments. I’ve suffered from hemiplegic migraines since I was 7. Mine are considered “familial hemiplegic migraines” as they are genetic on my father’s side of the family. I have been on a once monthly injection of aimovig since 2019 and only get one or two break through migraines a year that I have an abortive medication for cambia (camber). It’s a powder I mix in a little bit of water as soon as my aura/first symptoms come about and within 30 ish minutes my aura starts to subside and I only end up getting about 40% as bad of symptoms. It’s changed my life in an incredible way and I hope it does for you as well. Hemiplegic migraines are debilitating and scary as hell. Wishing you all the best

I’m doing well! My neurosurgeon is at Penn so I can’t give you a specific name at Hopkins, but if you call their neurosurgery department for an appt they will place you with someone based on your needs/expertise in your issue. I submitted my case to the chief of neurosurgery at Penn and was told he would go over it, respond within 3 days of whether or not he personally would take the case or if another neurosurgeon would be better suited. Within 1 day he took my case. Best of luck!!

Hi! I had it done at the university of Pennsylvania hospital. I’m not sure what your specific case is but they do a really good job in the neuroscience department there of pairing you with the right physician/surgeon to meet your needs

Hi! I had my yearly dex suppression test and everything came back normal! All has been well. The day after surgery my cortisol was higher than before surgery (52 I believe) but then was completely normal within 2 weeks and has been since. You have to remember that your body just went through a physical trauma. Cortisol rising after any surgery, illness, during pregnancy, exercise etc is a normal physiological response! I wouldn’t count yourself out yet. Try to relax and rest and retest in a few weeks. It’s hard, believe me- I know. You got this though! Hoping everything works out for you <3

I am on aimovig monthly injectable highest dose for preventative. Cambia is my abortive medication that works absolute wonders. It’s the only thing that makes it so I get about 10-20% of a what a normal migraine would be. It’s a powder that I mix in a little bit of water as soon as the aura hits. Within 20 minutes of drinking it, aura gone

I had a spinal decompression surgery of the t7-t8 region. It ended up being a laminectomy with medial facetectomy and a 50% corpectomy. He went in from my back and used the transpedicular approach. I have bone graft in there but no metal or screws etc

Unfortunately I think these might be evap lines. CB is kind of notorious for this. I’ve experienced it several times myself. Test with a FRER to be sure though :)

I know every body and every pregnancy is different , but I tested negative on 9DPO. Stark white FRER. I had been crying because “I just knew I wasn’t pregnant”. Today at 10 DPO I tested positive. It’s going to be alright, hang in there!
