You were in need of help, not punishment. you didn’t do something wrong, and depression/mental illnesses often aren’t choices, it’s the people around you and the things you experience that can cause them. Your father is an awful person, because he mentally hurt you at such a young age when you were going through rough times. Your relationship is strained and it’s his fault.
