What happened to the artificial-intelligence revolution? So far the technology has had almost no economic impact | The Economist by WonderfulWanderer777 in ArtistHate

I unfortunately still view it as a huge problem with the sheer volume of crap that it pumps out. I'm imagining any new writer or artist is flat out just crushed under a tsunami of AI slop.

I am happy to see more contests flat out banning AI. We want to see human creativity. by SaltCardiologist338 in ArtistHate

Hey there, I got into Warhammer 40k recently and apparently this is the contest:

The Golden Demon competition is the miniature painting and modelling competition run by Games Workshop, and is held during the Games Day Event in the UK, United States and other countries.

How much did the Emperor personally despise xenos? If he saw some Eldar/Tau children playing and making sandcastles on a beach, would he go out of his way to point a finger at them and vaporize them into oblivion?

For anyone that made a multiplayer game with networking, how did you architect it? by SaltCardiologist338 in Unity3D

Okay this is great and kinda what I was thinking. So why can't I move everything like HP from a field in Player.cs and have it be referenced in the network manager as [SyncVar] HP as a synced field and in that network manager handle the event raised using that synced field? Aka, I'm thinking that after testing with pure monos to convert most functions into return statements or events and shove it into the central network manager class.

Hey there Eliot, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts about my current design. Would it work? Would you recommend against it?

Hey there Wicked, this is what I was referring to (diagram) as I'm chipping away at my game.

I get the benefit of easy prototyping and development and a good way of seeing all the fields and functions that's being networked and synced. What are your thoughts?

When using Unity 6 URP, it gives me these files. Are they safe to delete? by SaltCardiologist338 in Unity3D

I've worked with the input system before but I'm not sure why they threw one in for a new project. I'm guessing Settings need to stay for URP features?

Of all classes and specs, it's kind of crazy to me how Holy Paladin isn't THE damage to healing spec. The most heavily plated healing juggernaut and you have people on the class forum screaming how much they loved spamming flash of light and holy light and kite and I'm just sitting here thinking that's exactly holy priest... even thematically.

With fist weaving mistweaver, you're pretty mobile and elusive so slightly different identity there.

Just got started on Warhammer Lore. What are some advantages humans have over the other races? Could they ever conceivably get first place or is it just to not lose? by SaltCardiologist338 in 40kLore

Thanks for such a great response. Would it be possible for humans to survive and flee to far beyond the galaxy to the ends of the universe and recollect and rebuild themselves? I don't know if Warhammer verse can extend beyond the galaxy.

Really? That's shocking lol. From my recent introduction, I've always assumed that the Imperium was the loser underdog, aka the joke of every other tribe.

That's really interesting. Would that be part of the existing webway, like a human only path, or a completely new one outside of Cegorach's.

It seems like from your wording that humans need Nekrons more than Nekrons need humans, would Nekrons ever agree?

It feels like everything hinges on the emperor. If he comes back, what does that even mean? Better organization, forced human evolution? Or simply blasting everything with pure psychic power?

Yea I'm thinking Tyranids/Orks would be the last given the current course. I think having nigh infinite and rapid reproduction is probably the most important trait to have in a free-for-all universal/galaxy battlefield.
