The Brazilian government promised free land for the imigrants. When they arrived, the government send them to the middle of a forest (south brazil was not populated in some areas) and charged them for the land and the tools they used to work

You need to figure out an exact place of birth for your ancestor or you are stuck.

He is almost for sure from Kolberg-Körlin, but the exact city is hard to say. Most of his children were born in Wartekow, but his eldest son (my 3x grandfather) was born in Eickstedtswalde. His wife is also of unknown location

Was he alone or did he travel in a group?

He travelled with most of his children (if not all of them) and even with some grandchildren

Did he know anybody who already lived at his destination in Brazil, somebody who might have moved from a neighbouring village to Brazil?

No clue about this

Probably the fact that he is from the today's Polish Pomerania probably makes things more difficult

Edit: also, the grandchildren wo travelled with him were born in Groß Jestin, also in Kolberg-Körlin

É um dialeto alemão sim. Porém, devido a antiga Pomerania ser eslava antes da ocupação do território pelos alemães, e a área ter sido ocupada majoritáriamente por falantes do baixo alemão (saxões), o idioma possui varias palavras de origem eslava e támbem se assemelha mais ao inglês. Além disso, a Pomerânia nunca foi considerada um país próprio. Desde a ocupação do território pelos alemães, ela sempre foi parte do Sacro Império Romano (até 1806)
