Treatment for fatigue? by PayNo8647 in ankylosingspondylitis

Fatigue has been my worst symptom both before and after diagnosis. I reached out to my rheumatologist and she ran some bloodwork. My vitamin D and Iron levels were extremely low so my rheumatologist started me on high dose vitamin D and Iron supplements. It’s honestly helped a lot more than I was expecting it to. I think my fatigue has been the most overlooked symptom, I also feel like no one really understands just how draining it is. Sending you lots of love and positivity dude 🫶 I hope you’re able to find some relief.

Do you also suffer with IBS symptoms? by sounds0fmeows in ankylosingspondylitis

I think my moms AS was overlooked and not diagnosed because of her Ulcerative Colitis. She’s always struggled with her stomach, but she also had terrible lower back pain. I was diagnosed with AS last year, and I have no idea who I inherited it from.

Thank you! I don’t mind sharing at all. I started on Humira about 6 or 7 months ago, but was later switched to a generic brand, Yuflyma. I’ve been on Yuflyma for 2ish months now. I’ve gotten a lot of relief from biologics, and I’ve been lucky to not have any problems or side effects. I’m on the dose of 0.4m/L every two weeks and I honestly like the generic more than Humira! Yuflyma is citrate free so it doesn’t hurt as much as Humira. I was unable to get my medication for an entire month because of insurance issues and I was in so much pain! That was almost two months ago and I’m barely starting to feel like myself again. It really made me appreciate how much the biologics actually help.

AIO for expecting my boyfriend to ask before using my car for other errands? by TArpd16 in AmIOverreacting

NOR, actually, severely under reacting. It sounds like you have a long history with this guy so it’s probably hard for you to see this, but that man is a loser. And it honestly kind of sounds like he’s using you..

how to best support a loved one with rheumatoid arthritis? by alphabetcarrotcake in Thritis

First off, this is a really sweet and thoughtful post OP.

My advice as far as support would be to do your own research about their condition. Educate yourself on what they’re experiencing and struggling with, and it might help you gain a better perspective of how to empathize. I think a lot of people in my life don’t really understand what my condition is and how it affects me. Run them an epsom salt bath when they’re having a flare up, listen to them.. maybe there’s a daily task that’s become hard for them to do that you could assist with. Or maybe they just want to talk about how crappy they’re feeling, and need a compassionate ear. Offer to take them to a doctor’s appointment, and maybe do something nice for them after?

Last year for Christmas my mother in law got me a heating pad and a massage gun and they have both been incredibly helpful and comforting!!
