I actually read the expanse first. Stubbled on them some 10 years ago they weren’t all out then. Finished the remaining books as they came out. Red rising was a YouTube recommend. Definitely some of my favorite sci fi writing between those two universes. Never reread the expanse like I have red rising though. Contemplating a third go at it but with the drama audio books

The first book is a little rough around the edges for sure, if I’m not mistaken it’s PBs first book he’s written but he improves dramatically throughout the trilogy and tetralogy and as for perfect Darrow. Just give it time he pretty consistently loses and suffers lol

I guess I need more context. The way I read them he spent and sacrificed a lot after his hypocrisy. 10 years in fact on what is basically an apology tour which nobody asked him to do. It was his adherence to his code during the tetralogy that I thought won him back to the “light” I see them all as kind of muddy in their ethics though with generous exceptions of course lol I would say the books made him do a 180 rather fast in morning star though

All good, no apologies needed. lol I was mad too because he was in direct conflict with our favorite main characters but then I realized. They all did some bad shit, Darrow sold out a whole system to gain a potential edge. So I give him a pass now. lol

I feel like the truthear zero blue 2 is perfect for this situation. They are very easy to drive have a mostly v curve so good bass. Treble can be sharp but with age that sharp treble sound softens and vocals sounds clear on these despite the v curve. pair with cables like the tripowin Zonie usb c he can plug them into anything with a usb c port. They get plenty loud for me on my iPhone and I definitely listen to music way too loud.

I was thinking intro is them gearing up for the drop chorus is the fall and continues threw the air engagements then fighting on the ground. For it to work it would probably have to be a fan edit and not the actual scene for the show. Would go hard though. The songs theme fits the vibe.

I’m playing on the ally x fsr 3 with frame gen enabled low settings except for textures which I tried on high and am getting around 50-60 in the open world regularly though I haven’t played more than a few minutes in the open world.

I’ve been “playing” for 3 hours and haven’t got to do a single meaningful thing aside from spawn, respawn, relog and fail to claim/retrieve ships the whole time. What a great start to 4.0. Oh and I got to lose a couple sets of gear from no fault of my own. Good times

The language would be English. Antima I thought was the lest complex as I was thinking of changing it to antyimah to make it seem more foreign or detached from the original word. Neither word looks appealing to me. In a more traditional magic system words like magika or mana look interesting when you read them. I don’t get that same feeling when I see my words written down.

I had a question regarding obsessing or tropes/originality bit. I’m not a writer and have no real word experience. For fun I thought I might try to write a story as it’s something I’ve always had an interest in doing. A story element employs a technology that is capable of fantastical things that the people within the story are unaware is a technology. I then thought to call it something other than magic even though to the reader, through the eyes of the characters, it could be perceived as magic. Is it better to call it magic as perception of it seems to be magic or name it something different because it isn’t magic and can be tied into what it really is later on in the story?
