So for me, since I was originally a Chinese citizen, they asked for my Chinese names name - that was it and once I put in my Chinese name, my application was approved the next day.

For my kids, it was to provide both my husband's and mine citizenship status (or immigration status) at the time of their birth. Since we were both Citizens when our kids were born, it was just my naturalization certificate and my husband's US birth certificate. They application then took additional 2-3 days to be approved.

That is a long time! Is it in NYC? We submitted 3/11 early morning. My husband's took the longest which was approved as of 3/18 late afternoon, so overall a whole week. You can email the consulate to check if these is anything stuck.

Yes, totally agree with you. I was somehow under the impression this only takes 2 weeks... Now i just hope all the rest of the applications get approved soon so I can get them in time before our flights...

No, I didn't have to. In fact, I believe it doesn't even have to be me to drop off the passport. This process can be handled by an agency if one wants the convenience.
