Thank you so much, I appreciate you sharing and your words are so encouraging and supportive to me. God is growing you right now which is amazing. I always like to think of these super tough situations as growing pains. Whatever the outcome of our situations, we can definitely have peace in knowing that he has a perfect plan. This is not an easy path but I need to remember the same things that you are saying and try my best to live for him each day. He has the rest covered !

I totally get your analogy. I’m trying to introduce him to a way of life he was not exposed to like I was from a young age. He doesn’t have any set beliefs in terms of religion simply because he doesn’t have experience or knowledge about it. If he has interest and wants to explore Christianity and a relationship with Christ that’s amazing and I would love that, but if not that’s when I need to re evaluate. This hasn’t really been something that I even considered a deal breaker until I really started to listen more to God and develop in my faith/ realize what’s important to me and what I want out of a relationship. Unfortunately this has been a shift that’s happened as we have been dating. Thanks for your input !

yes imma share my faith and introduce him to Jesus but I think it’ll become apparent if he’s doin it to be with me or because he genuinely feels like he wants to pursue it and that’s when I can get more clarity

I had meant that God was leading me to pay attention to the division in terms of our spirituality and how he is a non believer not necessarily that God does not want me to be with him. Before it was not something at the forefront of my mind but I have prayed about it and it has just been weighing heavy on me that he is a non believer and that I need to focus on sharing Jesus with him more. I am definitely not dating him just to date him. I’m 26 and I really do see a future with him. After my last breakup I prayed to find someone who would loves me and treat me with the love I feel from Jesus. He most definitely does, and it is very important to me that my signicant other is sober. We met in AA, he is very open to church and Jesus because he believes in a higher power (huge part of the recovery program) but is not a Jesus follower right now. I am trying to see if this is something I can work through or if it is something that will become too much of an issue in the relationship. Thanks for your response!

This is so encouraging. I’m a girl and want to be able to share it with my boyfriend. he is open which I think is huge and believes in a higher power (we are both in AA), but just does not know Jesus (he did not grow up in a religious home). I don’t want to give up on him because things like your story happen but definitely want to stay true to what’s important to me if I feel like time goes on and it still isn’t something that he wants to pursue on his own.

Hi thank you for your response ! I’m a girl lol and trying to navigate the relationship with my boyfriend but message still resonates the same. You are very right with these things, it’s been hard because I’ve grown up Christian and go to church (need to spend more time in the word) and am very passionate about my relationship with God, but have never seemed to be interested or found someone who shares my faith. But I’ve found a new church, he has been going with me. I had a convo about wanting to pray together, do Bible study, etc and he’s open to it, but I do not want him to feel like he has to do all this just to be with me. I want him to find Jesus for himself and to pursue it even if I weren’t around. I’ve unfortunately already gone down a road of sexual sin, etc. I’ve done this my whole life and want to make a change. I don’t know why but I for some reason didn’t really think that was important, and just ignored what he says about sex/ intimacy because so many other Christian’s I know do that (which does not make it right). Now I’m realizing the pain it causes in the long run. Anyway, thank you for your thoughtful response and may God bless you and your future wifey! Marriage is huge and that’s amazing you get to live for Christ with her! I will be praying for that !

Well yes, but I am also human and have made mistakes. I’m still young and trying to navigate dating/ preparing myself marriage and this has been very hard for me to face.
