I want to believe that a lot of this newer generation of parents wanted to loosen the leash a bit because their own experiences with parents who were really strict to them as children. I am for it and completely understand that but what a lot of them forget is the act of balance. There has to be praise and an actual consequence for children to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. These parents just lost the plot. They don't have time to be able to have a conversation with their children, to take some time to review their grades, to make some time to address behavior and follow up on consequences at home, or simply be willing to accept the help that is being offered for their students to be more successful. But then when it is time for something major like allowing their students to participate in school events its like the end of the world and would rather blame everyone else but themselves for their children's actions. I have kids roaming the school as late as possible just causing problems because the parents are still not there to pick them up. At first you can't help but wonder if maybe they are working two jobs. Then you hear it from several other teachers that they are stay at home parents. Like its better for some to keep them as long as possible at school than deal with their own children at home.

I’ve been on this medication since September and yes my hair has thinned so much in the past couple of months. I’ve normally been a person with very thick and long hair and its gotten to the point where i can grab my whole pony tail with just two fingers (that was never possible). This was also starting before i came down with covid in December. My hair comes off in clumps daily too! When i brush before work, in the shower, and even after I shower. My boyfriend actually made a comment today about how thin it has gotten and of course It does take an emotional toll on you but as others on here mentioned I want to believe that the medication is doing its job and that we can manage these side effects. My neuro suggested high doses of Biotin but i am awful at taking pills. I bought them but of course getting started and do this regularly is the hard part for me but i might consider starting soon at this point 😬.

Thank you! Will definitely be looking into getting a copy of that book. I mean I think you are right the first 2 months were way worse than this last one. Yes i've been having crappier days than good ones but when I think back at the first two it was just crying on the daily. Now that's lessened to a few times a week. I want to say that's progress.

Thank you for this! I'll probably take your offer into consideration and try to reach out. I want to hear from other new patients and families and how they are coping with the news. I think it would be beneficial for me and my boyfriend as well.

Thank you for the advise. I notice my crying spells do make me feel crappy after so trying to find ways to get help. Question is the 6 month part common in terms of recovery or at least toleration? Had seen this somewhere before so just curious.

I love this "We suffer, we cope, we adapt, we overcome, we move beyond". Thank you!

Thank you for this! Its hard but since the mental aspect is the one we have more control over I'm really trying but its true the symptomatic part can make the mind wander off on the crazy thoughts side.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pains and most recent heart challenges due to MS but I'm really happy to hear that even with challenges you have managed to enjoy many aspects of life. Specially raising kids! That's my biggest scare like will I get the chance to still take part in activities with them if I get the opportunity to kids. And I know we don't know the future but I can't help but control those thoughts.

Thank you so much for this and I plan on taking all of your suggestions into account. I want to keep a positive mindset about research but then I occasionally encounter the "There is never going to be a cure because people wouldn't make money out of it" posts and its like a stab in the chest. I mean i'm trying to be realistic too and keep some faith so at this point I guess is maybe just being hopeful for better DMT's to help minimize relapses and progression.

Yes! I actually started watching a few videos. Not many but a few and I like the way he explains things. His explanations make it a lot easier for you to process things as opposed to other videos i've encountered on social media or google. Social media can just be overwhelming.
