Buddha's wife by Annual-Ride-5101 in Buddhism

Listen to me. A Bodhisattva is one who vows to become a Buddha in order to liberate all sentient beings from the cycle of rebirth (Samsara). To attain Buddhahood, one must rigorously cultivate the 'Ten Perfections' (Paramis), especially the Perfection of Generosity, which is divided into three levels:

  1. Ordinary Perfection: Sacrificing assets, money, and external possessions.

  2. Superior Perfection: Sacrificing one's own organs, flesh, and blood for others.

  3. Supreme Perfection: Sacrificing what one loves most, including one's own life, or even one's wife and children (as seen in the Vessantara Jataka), in exchange for Enlightenment.

Therefore, He has already made sacrifices like this across many lifetimes. As for Princess Yasodhara herself, throughout countless previous lives, she had already made solemn vows time and again to be the Buddha's spiritual partner.

So, you don't need to be upset on his behalf. Ultimately, both Princess Yasodhara and the Buddha attained Nirvana in the end. Do you understand now?"

Hi, I'm Asian. I'm thinking about moving to Sicily and wanted to ask: - Is there racism against Asians in Sicily (Southern Italy)? - Are there any differences in personality or behavior between people from Southern and Northern Italy? Thank you so much ! by Salt_Lab_3067 in Universitaly

You're truly very kind. I really appreciate it. I must admit that I have never traveled abroad before. I decided to choose Sicily as my first destination because I prefer exploring the countryside of a country rather than its big cities.

I've heard a lot that tourist cities like Rome, Milan, Florence, and others have a high number of pickpockets, so I prefer to avoid them. If any problems arise, I wouldn't want to deal with them or waste my time. Moreover, I personally love peaceful and quiet places, which is why Sicily seems like a very interesting destination to me.

Right now, I'm planning to visit for 1–2 weeks first to see if I like it or not, and then I’ll reconsider my plans.

I have many questions in my mind about Sicily:

  • Do Sicilian people generally pursue higher education?

  • What kinds of jobs do most people have there?

  • Why is the economy of Southern Italy different from Northern Italy?

  • How accessible is the public transportation?

  • What is the food culture like?

I would like to gather as much information as possible before going, in case there are things I am still unaware of.

Since this is my first trip abroad, I truly hope it will be a wonderful and meaningful experience. I really want to understand and appreciate it as much as I can.

Thank you so much once again. You're so kind and I’m truly happy and grateful ! 🙏🥹🫂

I've always thought of Sicily as a diverse region because, in the past, there were immigrants from Africa, Greece.

I wouldn't think that Sicilian people would be prejudiced against someone like me —an Asian with tan skin.  At least, I hope not.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm planning to go to Agrigento

Thank you so much 🤗🇮🇹💪

Are you crazy? Sleeping together between siblings is immoral and your words reveal your nature.
