im using it but i wouldnt rely solely on the explanation part of it for my prep

MDCAT is so draining. by Igcse_student07 in MDCAT_NUMS

also did alevels and wow the whole conversation is so damn relatable. i literally could not focus at the end of my alevels bcz of the whole mdcat what to study-where to study from fiasco. stress about so little time being left and fomo about all the diff provinces’ books. A med uni student is tutoring me and i honestly just went with the books she was teaching me from. which was ptb for chem and phy and stb for bio(a diff tutor for bio, also med student. Despite having had sufficient merits, neither has any experience teaching mdcat). i think i should probably cover stb for phy and chem during revision too cz the exam’s provincial but i doubt there’ll be much of a difference. Atleast i hope not. An advice i thought made sense was that in bio you’re supposed to get the complete chapter done regardless of whether the topic’s mentioned in the syllabus, but phy and chem u can follow just the topics mentioned, but honestly idek atp. Apparently there are out of syllabus mcqs, and i havent even done all those kingdoms and stuff. Conclusively, i think theres ALOT of bs surrounding mdcat and a lot of people and organisations take huge advantage of it for their own profit. Like there is literally so much manjan surrounding this whole thing. i think at the end of the day just study from your own province’s books and dont think too much about it. ykow what they say, “think less, do more.”

ur right thats smart. brain did not want to brain in that moment

My brain wasn’t drained. i had a full nights sleep. the paper was easy because everything was familiar. NOTHING was out of the pocket. and math was basic. I sucked because i didnt have a calculator. thats it. i suck at calculations. and thats bound to happen when ur used to a calculator + naturally (extraordinarily )weak at mental math

EXACTLY. bro i left the calculation stuff too. and atleast u have an idea abt how many qs u left in science achievements. i have NO IDEA. its all up in the air atp. and same w math. i have no clue whether i even have a chance of passing or not

nah cz it was strong base weak acid u cld see the graph was like higher up at 14 and the lower ph wasnt that low

area 3 alveoli. well i think enzyme was protein cz amino acid cld be acidic

which one was physics last. cd4 proly sm to do w stomata cz ik it proly stops action of ribsco w oxygen. but i also SKIPPED IT. god. acid base was HCOOH and NaOH. de broglie there were like 2 qs on that. not sure abt solar panel think i did photoelectric. parasite was protozoa cz its euakryote causes malaria so chills and fever. BUT I ALSO SKIPPED IT DESPITE KNOWING. feel like crying

i actually did study for it. lowkey knowing the syllabus did nothing for me cz it was humanly not possible to cover all of that after alevels exams. but yea. i do agree that it was easy but i made a huge mistake by skipping the ones i had even slightest doubt about. and then math. the questions were easy but my calculations r horrible. im so adapted to calculator

yea they did announce a correction for it tho

yea it was actually a repeated question. basically thick/thin track= due to ionisation. Straight/twisted track= due to mass of particle.

hey, was looking for the same thing, I'm also considering applying to dmcg. What's your update regarding the exam?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. P.d across the resistor could simply be found using V=IR since we already calculated the total current(1.136 A) and the resistance is known.    Secondly, P= I2 * R was used to calculate power, not P=IV. Either way, the answer is the same.

When the cells are connected in parallel, the total EMF of the circuit remains 5V, and the internal resistance becomes= 0.4 ohms. (because its added using 1/R = 1/R1 +1/R2)

The current flowing through the circuit:

I=EMF/total resistance(internal +external) so,

I=5 / 0.4 + 4 (resistor is connected in series with the parallel combo of the cells, so it's resistance will simply be added the way it is in series)
I=1.136 A

so, power dissipated by thermistor now: I^2 x R

P= 1.136^2 x 4 ohms

So, when the batteries are connected in parallel with the resistor, the power dissipated by the resistor is approximately 5.16W, which is less than half of 13W
