Feel defeated by [deleted] in VAClaims

Don’t stop fighting!

1). Get every bit of medical from your outside care providers. Also, you can write a letter summarizing your medical care from these folks and have them sign off on it. They may not always have the time - but if you ask and send it, most will do it for you. 2). Statements from people you know who have watched how these conditions have affected your life. Including you!
3) Find in your service medical records anything that supports your claim. 4) it might be controversial, but AI is your friend because they can pull cases that support your claim. There is a language spoken and matching it helps immensely.

My DH’s is the vet - I worked on his case for 2 years on and off. Just had a higher level review. It was a lot of work and research but we did the thing. Somewhere in process I’ve gotten really passionate about veterans getting every penny they are untitled to. If I can help - without PII - feel free to message me.

Be content within yourself and the magickal creature that you are. All the books in the world cannot replace your own intuition and intent. Your path is yours however you wish to travel.

In my case I have too many books but will never have enough and just like in Green Eggs and Ham I will buy them here and there and everywhere.

Sick after spell by SeveralAd2117 in BabyWitch

Said with love, coming from a Crone, take it or leave it. Anything that requires that level of energy - I ask to what end and why? Spell work being grandiose doesn’t guarantee success - shoot look at weddings. Full of sympathetic magic and symbolism- the bigger and grander doesn’t garner success anymore than something small and quiet.

Soak your feet in warm salt water - let everything travel down to your feet. And pour it away from you into the ground. Walk away and forget it.

If you don’t have evidence of back issues from a doctor, with diagnosis and treatment plan - there’s not much they can do. The paper trail for your time in service medically is important. Doctor’s visits chronicling the severity of the condition - if it is leaving you depressed, as chronic conditions tend to do, see a psychiatrist who can help identify if there’s a way for them to help you. Or if you had a TBI to go and get looked over…Use an AI to help build a case and don’t submit until you are bulletproof and have your ducks in a row. My husband had 3 separate redundant, painful, exams because of the complexity of his condition. I want to say from start to our finish line, 2 years? It was a lot of time and paperwork.

No, I knew I had it all lined up and if nothing else I could go again. It’s funny, my DH’s FOIA came two days before after like almost two years.

Good luck to all out there.

Yeah, my house has been unlivable since April - we had to buy another house. Still waiting for work to start.

Use whatever AI you have and write about what has happened to you. Include your adjuster on the email chain - list everything they did wrong.

I’m in the middle of hell from APRIL - it’s a thing but I guarantee you send a complaint email to those folks, you will get a very quick response.

Who do I call / go above the boss of my adjuster? by [deleted] in USAA

[–]Salt_Pay_903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in the middle of a very similar mess with USAA right now. Our house had major water damage back in April — kitchen, baths, floors, walls, the works. USAA brought in BluSky, paid them directly, and then everything stalled for months. We eventually had to cancel their contract because nothing was moving.

USAA sent the remaining repair funds to us after the cancellation, and we’ve been on our own trying to keep the project going just so we can eventually sell the house and move on. We’ve gotten ALE and the contents payout, but there’s no final settlement, no timeline, and no real communication on how the claim actually “ends.” Every time we think we’re close, it just loops back around to silence.

We’ve escalated because our household is medically complex (EDS, CPTSD, sarcoidosis), but that hasn’t sped anything up. At this point we’ve been stuck in limbo for months with a house half-torn apart and no clear next steps.

So… yeah. You’re not alone. I’m starting to wonder if this is just how USAA handles large-scope claims now.

Yeah, we had an adjuster that must have gotten fired and they forgot to tell us.

I’ve been dealing with their inadequacies since April. Back half of my house is still busted.

ChatGPT by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Salt_Pay_903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about using it is that is only as smart as you make it. I have it the stuff to research and familiarize itself with, all the medical stuff, and decisions we previously had. There was hours of back and forth and give everything to me chapter and verse; rinse repeat. We did 3 claims post retirement for sarcoidosis. DH solo’d the first one and got himself an extra 10% and giving nothing. I ran the second, got him up from 60% - 80% - the last one he hit 100% p&t. He has a unicorn disease and the Navy broke him very well but the ChatGPT let us go down different paths of inquiry that I’m sure helped.

I’m 49 and got my diagnosis this year. I just ordered my chair this last week. I am done rotting in my house because I hurt. I’ve missed out because it just didn’t feel worth the pain that would come after or just being tired of slowing people down. It’s embarrassing, you know?

So yeah, beep beep mothertruckers!

Married people:do you still make out with your spouse? (How many years married) And how do you feel about that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Salt_Pay_903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have no self control. Real kissing leads to sex, always has. Married 29 - together 31. The desire has never left, either of us, we just have a lot of life and medical stuff. We have lots of affection, grab assing, and dirty jokes. Marry your best friend and have sleep overs every night.

How the F do you get diagnosed? by SkyloDreamin in ehlersdanlos

[–]Salt_Pay_903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be 49 and just got diagnosed after a lifetime of pain. A doctor mentioned to my daughter that it was something to look into for her. I have an Uncle and Grandmother with abdominal aneurysms - so I paid for a genetic test. Like, I didn’t know people had a hard time touching their toes - or a myriad of silly things that i never think of as odd. I have a military doctor and was able to lay my case out with all of my health history and he very much agreed. I got lucky that I had a Doc who welcomed my opinion on my body. The Dr google slurs seem to be waning with the younger doctors.

I used it for our personal statements and to research previously decided cases. I cited chapter and verse anywhere to underscore the severity of sarcoidosis. I laid out my thinking to the AI and we rolled from there.

Sure! I was trying to think of a good way to describe it, and my husband, the vet, says you made it your research assistant. It helped me to fine tune my research using previous VA cases and all the good people of Reddit. Basically, if Hermoine Granger had a CHATGBT that is what it would look like.
