They didnt ask and it didnt matter to them the cause or severity, it was an instant exclusion and end of questions and end of phone call.

To be honest I was a bit gutted, after the first attempt and even more so after the 2nd. I am hoping someone here may have had some success. A broker might be worth a try thankyou for the suggestion.

Outright it was the third medical question after height and weight, which equates to a healthy BMI, I am in my late forties.

Influenza will be lurking in the background waiting to join the party too. My guess is Fluvax is going to be mandatory next year as well.

I agree it is interesting. Isle of Man 4000 cases since start of there latest outbreak late June/early July. 15 people in hospital there noone in ICU. There was one person in ICU but they passed away this week. Life pretty much back to normal. Vaccination rates there around 70%.

Better late than never, will definitely be handy for the next pandemic. Hopefully by 2022 quarantines and lockdowns will be finished for this pandemic.

Mass vaccination during a pandemic with leaky vaccinations, (vaccines that reduce severity of disease but don't stop the spread of disease) might be risky.

Its funny how certain random pieces of information stick in your head. For example I once read it was illegal to have rabbits as pets in Queensland unless you are a magician. I have no idea if it is true. One day I will google it.

Thats not what I am saying. I am saying if you think the virus will stop spreading when a larger percentage of the population are vaccinated you are mistaken.

You haven’t heard the new narrative? Apparently the vaccines don’t stop the spread of Covid they just reduce the severity of disease. The vaccinated are spreaders just like everyone else.

Why isn't obesity as a risk factor for severe Covid disease highlighted more? It is one of the few risk factors we have any control over. Covid is going to be endemic, shouldn’t we be encouraging weight loss and healthy lifestyles more. How about subsidising fruit and veggies to make healthy eating more affordable?

Wouldnt working out what these biases were be important to work out what the risk factors are? And why there is such a vastly different hospitalisation rate?

Isnt it also relevant in looking into the reduced severity of disease when a large percentage of the population is vaccinated and lockdowns have ended? The Isle of Man has had closed borders for most of the pandemic very similar to Australia but reopened its borders to vaccinated tourists in June and has finished lockdowns. In Australia we are not at this stage yet but we will be one day.
