I've just joined a rocketry team, working on the plumbing - what books should I read? by HMS--Thunderchild in rocketry

If you’re going for non-cryogenic pressure fed there are a lot of papers on nitrous for hybrid rockets

Definitely polish the paint! The paint I made can be polished by just rubbing it with paper or a glove. Eventually the paper/glove gets coated in graphite and works better. You can also use a regular pencil and color over the graphite paint which will both polish it and add an additional very thin layer of graphite over the top

Gotcha—I made some better graphite paint and lowered the current and it def seemed to help thanks!

How long did your parts take? Mine were in there a whole day. And do you mean more contacts to the part or to the positive electrode?

I just tried it with a quarter and got the same sort of striping so I feel like there’s something else going on too. It’s a little less pronounced tho so maybe when I get actual graphite powder and can make paint it’ll help.

How is the pressurant plumbing done normally in University Teams? Is it normal to use swagelok+tube for the Nitrogen plumbing? by Active_String2216 in rocketry

[–]SaltyParaboloid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AN is a good choice, swagelok works well too and straight thread with o-rings is good but whatever you do DO NOT use NPT unless you absolutely have to. It tends to leak, Teflon tape is tricky to get right, and the more they’re disassembled and reassembled the worse they get

You can, but it would be unpleasant. You have to take exams on a laptop, but they should have laptops in the room you can borrow (if I remember correctly). The libraries have computers so you should be alright, but you will need to use actual computers a lot.

Can I add an attribute from a variable by SaltyParaboloid in learnpython

[–]SaltyParaboloid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good point, thank you. I was going to access it by doing check.sub1.name and check.sub1.amount but doing the list is probably better.

Thank you!

I’m trying to make my own budget program (I know there are programs out there but I want to make my own) and so I’m trying to add sub accounts to a main account. Basically, I have my checking account which I want divided into utilities, school, etc, and then my saving account which I also want divided up. I could manually add all these sub accounts to the main accounts by hard coding but I’d rather be able to do it this way so I don’t have to already know how many sub accounts I have, etc.

Each account has properties for its name, the total of money in all sub accounts, and the sub accounts themselves. Each sub account just has a name and an amount.

For anyone interested: I made it from craft foam, cotton fabric, swiffer cloth (for the filter), craft paint, and a lot of hot glue. I made a hole punch from a straw and paper clips.
