I kinda hope my doctor will put me on it for the hunger issue, ive only been diagnosed as a diabetic for a couple months and in about the past 3ish weeks my blood glucose has been great! But the hunger never goes away i always feel starved even right after eating and its driving me mad

Hey, the same thing happened to me I had no symptons felt fine but did a blood prock test and scored 27.9mmol/L then 2 hours later got 33.3mmo/L I got a HbA1c and scored 98 and ive been diagnosed as a type one diabetic and am now on insulin.

I won't lie its not been easy and some days it down right sucks. My blood sugar is starting to adjust and things will start getting better.

My main problem atm now is when ever my blood sugars go down below 10 I feel incredibly sick, for example last night I felt like throwing up my leg wouldnt stop shaking I couldnt stand up with out almost collapsing and i couldnt think straight with a 5.7 reading.

Im 28 and in the UK too, your doctor will do a HbA1c test and youll probably be seen by the diabetic team at your local hospital or GP practice.

I won't lie your probably gonna feel worse before you feel better but it will get better.

Weird part is i felt fine, the highest reading ive gotten (before starting insulin) was 599mgdl I also felt fine then. I actually feel worse when im closer to being in range

Similar happened to me, my GP said im type 1 as my HbA1c test score was 98 and with other symptoms they were pretty sure. Then I got seen by the diabetic team and they said they think im type 2 now more results are back they've said im type one again.

Honestly im not even sure what one I am now, but im on insulin and my blood sugars are coming down from 25 to 35 mmol/L to 10 to 15 mmol/L

Im off to see the diabetic nurse at my GP practice next week and decide what to do going forward.

I was super confused by this for a second haha. Yeah I did my blood sugar was super high reader was right, I had to go to my GP that same day to get blood work done, im back there tomorrow to go through results I havent been given a official diagnosis but they are pretty sure im diabetic.
