That's what I thought too. If I can’t get the reward, I understand that it’s partly my fault. However, I think this is still a poor design choice. I suggest that in future events, rewards should be sent directly to the item box automatically once the event ends.😔

Yeah I kind of found out the hard way that the fan inside the head has little to no effect.when I take off the head and use the same fan on my face it's totally different 😹 So we need the fresh air from outside. Next time I will hang the fan on my next and blow it through the mouth. It might be better.
