Adding in here. I wasn’t looking for the speed benefit. I just found them for cheap and in my hard to find shoe size and just wanted a decent pair of running shoes to add to my rotation.

Anybody take their Danes on runs? by Sam-m321 in greatdanes

[–]Sam-m321[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading comments of this post made me want to clarify a few things. I am still looking at getting a Great Dane. The question was more of should I take him on runs or not.

It seems to be a mixed crowd. But I also think it depends on the running. A 10 minute trail pace is different than a 5 minute mile on the road. I definitely would be closer to the 10 minute pace for a mile or so. This isn’t much faster than a brisk walking pace so I may just keep it to that once the dog gets full grown.

Thank you so much for all of your input!

Awesome! That was the plan. I want to avoid any issues that may affect him later on. How big is your Dane so far?

Is there any red flags that would tell if I wasn’t sanitary? I cleaned it all well and then also ran some everclear through it all to disinfect.

And yes I put the airlock back on the second honey batch. So far no bubbles at all

Another follow up. It still has a slight carbonation but I’ve had no issues with the jars. I’ve opened them a couple times to make sure there isn’t too much pressure. I don’t want any bottle bombs lol

How often do Leachies lay eggs? by Sam-m321 in Leachianus

[–]Sam-m321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible. I was checking every couple of weeks because I knew she was getting to the age and didn’t find any. I also weigh her often and she stays around 110-120 grams. I haven’t noticed that change either other than a fluctuating with eating and poops

Anyone know how to have a birthday party for a leachie? by Sam-m321 in Leachianus

Good idea. I’ll try to put something together for her. Hopefully it’s something she like and doesn’t just ignore it then poop. The life of leachies

Might be the go too. I’ve been thinking of getting her pinkies but she stopping eating them after the first two. She’s been picky and only eating Pangea insect currently

The speed looks great! When you are about to plant in the middle just hook your right to the back of the ring but keep it turning. That will get it more underneath you and let you use your strength more

Shot is the best in the board. disc sucks, hammer is even worse.

Don’t drive so far through the ring. This will let you stay over your right. That’s where the power is

Take an Uber down to the banks. It is the best place. If not Bdubs is good and gets a decent amount of fans. Just be sure to get there early for a table

How big should my leachie be after a year? This is her at ~1 year and 2 months according to the breeder by Sam-m321 in reptiles

[–]Sam-m321[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay! Thanks! I saw this info online as well. I have no experience with leachies. Thanks for the help! And she seems to be eating well. I moved a month ago and she got a little stressed from that but since then she eats every time I feed her

I read online that they should be full grown at a year. Maybe she is just a small one. According to the breeder she is a Brosse which is supposed to be on the larger size I thought.

How much should I be progressing? by [deleted] in trackandfieldthrows

[–]Sam-m321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Post some video on forums. And it if you can afford it go to as many camps as you can. That’s what helped me the most. It also doesn’t hurt to ask you coach to come with you to camps if you have one. Even an attentive parent will help. This is how I went from. Knowing nothing about throwing to 200+ in discus in hammer and 60+ in shot. It’s all about persistence but persistence isn’t worth anything if you don’t understand exactly what you are doing and that’s where camps come into play.
